‘Black Widows ‘symbolizes Good Girls can go dark for all the right reasons.

Based on the French Drama Series the much-awaited series ‘Black Widows’ released on Zee 5 on December 18.

Black Widows is a tale of romance, betrayal, and murder albeit with a twist. In the era of crime thrillers, Black Widows a farcical remake of French Drama is sure to stand apart as series with its dark humor and sense of intrigue.

Starring Sharad Kelkar along with the three ‘black widows’ Mona Singh, Shamita Shetty, and Swastika Mukherjee, this drama is sure to keep you on the hot seat this weekend.

The casting is brilliant and the acting of the cast is flawless. Swastika Mukherjee steals the show as the strong-headed yet emotionally suppressed Jayati. Shamita Shetty marked her acting comeback in this show steps into the shoes of a vulnerable Kavita. Finally, we have talented Mona Singh who portrays Veera as a mom who can do anything for her daughter.

Another face that has become very popular in the OTT space, Aamir Ali, delivers yet another powerful performance as Eddie, a character that is completely different from his much-applauded role of Keshwani in Naxalbari. Raima Sen and Parambrata Chattopadhyay, both great actors, are also outstanding in the supporting roles they play. Their characters take the story forward and bring a lot of drama to the narrative.

The first part of the 12-episode series opens with shots of a scenic holiday paradise and the revelry of three men on a speed boat, which within a few minutes goes up in flames. Shortly thereafter, we are given a sneak peek into the married lives of the trio in flashback. It showcases how each of the married couples is miserable in their wedlock and the blast is a celebration of the end of the misery for the three wives.

Black Widows works as a rich dark comedy-drama that is set in a small picturesque town in India. It revolves around how three best friends who thought they got away with the perfect crime of killing their abusive and cruel husbands. However, one of the men survives and seeks revenge on the female trio. Add to that, the trio also has to deal with a soon-to-be retiring cop on their trail who is determined to get to the bottom of the case. The freedom that they were seeking seems elusive once again. A power-packed cast, a tight storyline with elements of mystery and humour and a localised script created especially for Indian audiences makes Black Widows truly binge-worthy.
