The city of lakes is now famous for another reason!
India, a country knows as the land of a patriarchal society has drastically transformed itself in the recent years. Now it’s the queen who rules here! Be it politics, sports, business or anything, women rule everywhere. Even at Olympics they ruled. Now in Rajasthan, women have teamed up for policing too. Wouldn’t it be the coolest team of cops?

The City of Lakes has reportedly become the first in the country to have an all-woman police patrol wing on Thursday. The patrol team was flagged off by chief minister Vasundhara Raje from Fateh Sagar Lake side. Smart lady cops, dressed in crisp blue uniforms, helmets and carrying pistols, went on patrol duty around the city on modified bikes, equipped with beacons, search lights and first aid boxes.

Following the Udaipur launch, Raje announced that similar patrol teams would be introduced in other cities too. Encouraging lady cops to do their best, Raje said, “The public, especially young girls, women and the elderly, will feel more secure if they find women cops patrolling the city. They can walk up to them without hesitation and inform them about any awkward incidents such as eve-teasing or being subject to lewd comments.”
IG Anand Srivastava, SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal, additional SP Chandrasheel Thakur, collector Rohit Gupta were among others who were present on the occasion.
The lady patrol team idea was borrowed from Italy and China, where all-woman urban management officers have revamped the image of conventional policing.
