AAP vs Media: Stop shooting down the messenger’s every time.

If you check Aam Aadmi Party members twitter handles, you would have find out that decency in tweets for media were not a big concerned for them. AAP leader Ankit Lal, constantly tweeting below the belts comments on Times Now Editor in Chief Arnab Goswami and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi shows that the party ideology has changed from development to criticism in mere minutes. The party who came in power because of their so-called love for simplicity has now finds it hard to digest criticism from media.

One AAP supporter on Friday started a trend ‘ArnabModiKaKuttaHai’ on twitter. As degrading as it may sound the #Hashtag soon become viral and thousands of AAP supporters were abusing Times Now journalist Arnab Goswami on twitter, alleging that the journalist is very much biased towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has some personal grudges with AAP in general. The biggest low point is when senior party leader Ankit Lal divulges into the issue and started retweeting all ‘Below the belt’ tweets from AAP supporters.

Recently, Aam Adami Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday called senior journalist Shekhar Gupta a sell out for the ruling party.

Reacting to Gupta’s tweet about first chikengunya death in Delhi on Monday, a seemingly miffed Kejriwal tweeted: “If you want to do politics then do it openly, first you used to be ‘tout’ for Congress, now BJP. Such people tarnish the image of media”. Further extending his jibe at PM Modi, Kejriwal provoked Gupta to write anything negative about ‘his master’, “Write something for you master, who is out to conquer the world”.

Also, AAP minister Kapil Mishra publicly display India News Editor Deepak Chaurasiya personal number after the latter questioned Kapil Mishra actions to prevent Chickenguniya and Dengue. Tv journalists gets tons of death threatening calls after the incident.

Everyone has rights to speak in India, to criticize things you didn’t like is one thing but to downright disrespect someone is another thing. AAP ministers should think about the issues media raises and should stop turning down the messengers all the time.
