AAP MLA Owns Hotels, Farmhouses, Luxury Flats Really? Is He An Aam Aadmi?

Aam Aadmi Party on July 27 found itself in another controversy, when Income Tax officials raided the house of AAP’s Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar. The officials from Income Tax department had reached Singh’s house in the morning at 8:30 am and has locked down the premises.

Who is Kartar Singh Tanwar?
AAP candidate from Chattarpur, Kartar Singh Tanwar, has declared ownership of high-end SUVs. Tanwar is a municipal corporation chairman from the BJP. He rose from a junior engineer to become a man worth over Rs 1,000 crore and was reportedly part of a builder mafia in outer Delhi villages. Complaints have been filed against him with CVC, Lok Ayukta and CBI. AAP members like Prashant Bhushan were opposed for giving MLA ticket to Kartar Singh, because of his background, but Arvind Kejriwal wanted him to contest legislative election from Chhatarpur constituency.

The Aam Aadmi Party might not be so “Aam (common)” after all. Arvind Kejriwal’s party has almost as many “crorepati” or billionaire candidates as have rivals BJP and Congress. Earlier Prashant Bhushan has said that Kejriwal selects candidates who have more money and muscle power who can give party a hefty cut out of it.
Remember the time when Arvind Kejriwal used to give brilliant comments on corruption like “Whether it is Sheila Dikshit, or some minister from the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, or my own party, no one will be spared” or ‘I will never joined hands with corrupt officials”. Not so subtle now i think Mr. Kejriwal, right?

If you open Aam Aadmi Party website, in ‘How are we different’ section you can find some applaud worthy commitments like No MLA or MP of AAP will live in opulent and luxurious government housing, what’s the need if person like Kartar Singh has luxurious hotels for himself! Next is, in all political parties today criminals and mafia goons are given election tickets. Such people will never be given tickets in Aam Aadmi party. A thorough screening process will ensure that no one with a criminal record or proven corruption charges could stand for elections from our party So what will happen to Mr. Kartar Singh? Is he not corrupt or AAP will support him no matter what?.
This party will function with full financial transparency. Every single rupee collected by donations to run this people’s party will be publicly declared on the party’s website and all expenditures will also be declared on the website. Let’s wait for the Income tax raid results!
