UP girl develops ‘Rape-Proof’ Underwear

With rape cases rising exponentially in India, a girl named Seenu Kumari has developed an underwear that she claims is ‘rape proof’.

According to the reports, the girl, who hails from Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh, has developed the ‘Rape-Proof underwear with three important features: A lock, GPS and a video camera.

Though impractical, the undergarment technology serves as a harsh reminder of the threats girls and women face and the measures they have to take to avoid being raped.

Seenu claims that the lock won’t open without the password, ensuring the safety of the woman. The GPS, on the other hand, will tell her location to her family and police.

The underwear costs around 4300 INR and Seenu is hoping to launch it in the bigger market. Other features of the garment include bulletproof and cut-proof material.

Here’s the video of her explaining all the features:

While it’s great that she’s taking matters into her own hands, it’s sad that we need an invention like this in the first place.

She added that a woman wearing the underwear could press a button on the device which would call a pre-set emergency number when under attack.

While Kumari’s protective panties cannot yet protect girls and women from sexual violence, she said she plans to eventually sell her innovative undergarment. Kumari has already sent the prototype, which cost her about $80 to make, to the National Innovation Foundation to obtain a patent.

Seenu said the undergarment would then be ready to be sold in the market.

Yogi Adityanath’s Saffron Gamcha Is The New Style Statement Among UP Men.

The new fashion fad has been taken over the streets of Banda and Mahoba in Bundelkhand and this new fashion fad is none other than Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Gamcha’ accessory.

With a mahant sitting tight on the state’s most powerful seat of governance, Uttar Pradesh is being taken over by a new fashion fad, ruled by 50 shades of orange. No longer is saffron merely something you sprinkle on your sevaiyan on Eid – you make sure you wear it wrapped around your head.

Ever since Adityanath was appointed the chief minister of the country’s most populous state, there has been a definite rise in the popularity of the colour associated with him… After all, he is never seen in public without being swathed in his signature saffron robes. And when you equate power and identity so closely with a colour, it follows that it gets embedded into the very cultural zeitgeist.

Mahoba shop-owner, Ramjet Namdev, claims that the younger generation is particularly enamoured of the new colour code. They are “loving it” he says.

After Salman Khan’s braclet and BJP own Narendra Modi’s Jacket, we think it’s the time of Yogi Adityanath’s Gamcha to be a fashion statement.

Watch: Woman Cop In UP Takes On Angry BJP workers.

A woman police officer in western Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr stood up to bullying by a group of angry BJP workers, after one of them was issued a challan and arrested for driving without required papers of his motorcycle.

In the video footage of the incident that has gone viral, Circle Officer (CO) Shreshtha Thakur confronts a mob of BJP workers who are raising slogans against the police. They also misbehave and argue with her. Ms Thakur can be heard telling them that “she will add additional sections for creating public disorder”.

“You please go and get written orders from the Chief Minister that the police have no right to check vehicles… that we can’t do our job. Hum raat mein parivar ko chhor ke duty karte hain, maze lene ke liye nahi (we leave our families at home at night not to have fun but to do our job),” she tells them sternly.

She also said, “You (BJP workers) are bringing a bad name to your party… people will soon start saying that you are BJP’s goondas.”

The incident took place on Friday afternoon when BJP’s district-level worker Pramod Lodhi was issued a challan for not having proper documentation of his vehicle. The man then allegedly misbehaved with police officers following which he was arrested, the police said.
The BJP workers created ruckus outside the court where he was produced and Ms Thakur’s office. They alleged that he was arrested because he refused to pay bribe to a police officer. A man, who is seen arguing with her, tells her that Mr Lodhi was asked Rs. 2,000, a claim that she refuted and said that the police issued challans to thousands of offenders and nobody had an issue except for him.

A few weeks ago, a woman police officer Charu Nigam was seen wiping her tears after she was shouted at and threatened by senior BJP leader and Gorakhpur lawmaker Radha Mohan Das Agarwal.

The India Police Service (IPS) officer was trying to control women protesters who had blocked a road while demanding a ban on liquor shops, when a minor clash erupted.

A well-known doctor, Mr Agarwal started shouting at Ms Nigam, saying, “Main aapse baat nahin kar raha hoon… mujhe tum kuch na batao. Chup raho tum! Bardasht ke bahar mat jao (I am not speaking to you. Don’t tell me anything. You keep quiet. Don’t cross your limits)”.

He justified his outburst later saying Ms Nigam used brute force against pregnant and old women protesting against illicit liquor sale.

Aadhaar Card May Soon Be Compulsory For Booking A Free Ambulance In UP.

We are in a time where stories about people being denied ambulances at a crucial moment are all time high, The UP government has decided to make it more difficult to access Ambulance services to normal people. TOI has reported that UP government is making Aadhaar Card mandatory for people to book free ambulance. If someone calls for an ambulance he or his relative will have to show their Aadhaar Card to the official first.

UP Government’s new move is to reduce fraudulent use of ambulance as UP health department official told TOI that ambulance driver often get fake calls about emergency and it costs them money because of fuel spent in the trips.

“The state government has instructed us that whenever anyone calls for an ambulance, his Aadhaar card must be produced,” Bijnor CMO Suhveer Singh, was quoted by the newspaper as saying.

Earlier this month, due to the negligence of health dept. authorities, a man was forced to carry his niece’s body on a bicycle from a district hospital in Kaushambi. The administration failed to arrange an ambulance as there was no budget for fuel. Yogi Adityanath led UP govt. has yet to decide the date to make Aadhaar Card mandatory for people.

Serve Beef Or No Wedding: Groom’s Family Calls Off The Wedding After Bride’s Side Refused To Serve Meat!

A wedding was called off in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur by the bride’s family after the groom’s family demanded that they are served beef at the ceremony.

The incident took place in the Dariyagarh village under the Bhot Police Station.

The condition put by the groom’s family was to either serve their guests with beef preparations or be prepared for cancellation of the marriage.

Apart from placing a non-negotiable demand of beef dishes, the groom’s side was also demanding dowry.

“They demanded beef to be served at the wedding and a car. When we denied them both, they called off the wedding. The government has banned beef. How can we serve it?” said the bride’s mother.

This is hardly an isolated incident. Ever since the government’s crackdown on beef, it has become difficult for families to acquire the same and weddings have been disrupted over its absence from menus.

In April this year, another groom called off his wedding because the girl’s family did not serve any meat at the wedding function.

“Proposing A Girl Is A Crime?”- That’s What UP Police Think.

Just two days after Yogi Adityanath took oath as the Uttar Pradesh CM, one of the BJP’s oft-repeated promises during its election campaign was a formation of anti-Romeo squads “to protect the honour of women” took off with a great deal of purposefulness in the state. In its election manifesto for Uttar Pradesh, the BJP promised to create Anti-Romeo Dals (or squads) near colleges to “ensure the safety of college-going girls” and “check eve-teasing”.

But UP Police went to another planet with the idea of Honour protection. Police are stepping ahead with brutal measure instead of crucial measures. Is this really so hard for UP Police to understand the concept of being a “Protector”, not a “”Demon”?

There have been many lethargic activities UP Police is letting accused perform, for the sake of the Anti-Romeo Squad “Objective”, such as Face Blackening, beating, accusing of no reason, cock-pose, sit-ups by holding ears. What you up to UP Police?

An “anti-Romeo squad” shaved the head of a man in the presence of policemen who had caught him with a female friend in a public park in Shahjahanpur.

The incident happened last week, but a video of it went viral on Friday, after which senior police officials suspended the three constables who were present at the site.

“Three constables namely, Suhail Ahmed, Lasiek Ahmed and Sonu Pal have been accused of involvement in the incident. Prima facie it appears that they were present there and failed to stop those who were shaving the head of the victim. I have ordered their suspension on this ground,” Shahjahanpur SSP, K B Singh said.

Reportedly, the constables found the victim who was with his female friend outside a public park. They asked the woman to leave and called a barber and asked him to shave the man’s head.

Though senior police officials acknowledged the presence of the constables during the incident, they have claimed that they are not part of the anti-Romeo squad formed to protect women in Uttar Pradesh, as promised by the BJP.

“I have also asked a circle officer to investigate the matter. Further action against the constables will be taken on the basis of the investigation,” K B Singh said.

The constables are from Azizganj police post which falls under the city limits of Shahjahanpur.

The victim has not lodged any complaint against the constables in the matter.

The Anti-Romeo squads were officially directed to identify the eve-teasers, troublemakers in the crowd and it is supposed that the squad will let off the miscreants by a warning, or by talking to their parents. Another power of the squad is that they are free to take curative actions against the trouble makers which strictly depend on the activity of the culprit. But, unfortunately, squad only understands the Criminal Law.

Ever since the squads came into existence, media is flooded with their cons. Stories of allegedly accusing innocents are everywhere on the news. These squads were supposed to protect the honour of women, not to humiliate/disgrace the innocents or accused.(strictly depending on the seriousness of the activity)

On such issues, UP Govt directed the squad just after two days, that the squads should not use any inhuman means for the job, and no innocent must be accused(if both are meeting with concern).  The squads have begun to be a torture for the love birds of UP.

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has hinted that his state might also go for a similar arrangement to check the activities of “Majnoos” (Romeos), saying they are not good for the society and we will reform them

Is it really so hard for Uttar Pradesh Police to understand the objective? Why is it so?

Maybe because they were recruited on the basis of their senior secondary mark sheet  & for the sake of a minor physical test.

Look, we all know how to get 80% marks in the senior secondary in Uttar Pradesh without even attempting the exam on our own. But, a degree can’t offer u a mental standard of that level.

On a serious note, Uttar Pradesh Police needs to GROW UP.

CM Yogi Adityanath in Action: Taking UP on The Course Of Development

Uttar Pradesh, even though being the most populated state of India, is one of the least developed states in the country. Crime rate, women security, corruption is few out of the many problems in UP.

The new Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has to overcome all these problems and expected not repeat same actions as his predecessors. He is 5 times Member of Parliament and has been working a lot in his constituency, Gorakhpur. After becoming Chief Minister, he has taken a lot of steps to fulfil the promise of ‘Vikas’ that BJP had made. Alok Rai, senior journalist, based in Lucknow gave us a clear viewpoint on this. Following are the few steps that until now he had taken that no CM earlier had:

·         After becoming the CM, the first order of Yogi Adityanath was for all the ministers to declare their movable and immovable assets within 15 days.

·         BJP in its manifesto had declared during elections that they will ban all the illegal slaughter houses in the state. They have supported the beef ban. Yogi has also implemented this and ordered for the closure of all the illegal slaughter houses operating in the state.

·         The Chief Minister has issued orders that no minister in the state government will be allowed to use the red beacons atop vehicles. This step is to prevent the VIP culture in the state.

·         Hemvanti Nandan Bahuguna, former CM of UP in 1973, was the last Chief Minister who actually visited the entire CM office and raised the issue of cleanliness in government offices. After that, no CM has ever made an effort for such visit. But Yogi Adityanath actually took an initiative and took a round of the entire office. He also ordered for its cleanliness.

·         CM has also ordered the government officers to come to the office at 9:30 AM and stay till 6:00 PM. The officers are also ordered to give a presentation to their respective ministers every day about their work.

·         “Anti-Romeo squad” an initiative to catch the eve teasers in UP is launched by UP police for women protection. There has been a lot of criticism of this action as the allegations were raised that the police will actually harass innocent boys. Even though CM has clarified that this is just for women protection and no harassment of any innocent will take place, otherwise, strict action against the concerned officer will be taken.

·         Yogi Adityanath made a surprise visit to the Hajrat Ganj Police station in Lucknow. He moved from one wing to the other. All the policemen looked nervous as it is rare for a chief minister to visit a local police station. Yogi Adityanath had a discussion with senior police officers and tried to understand how the department works. Yogi Adityanath said that it would not be the last inspection and more inspections in all the government departments would be carried out.

It’s been only a few days since the appointment of the new CM and efforts are under way to bring the state on track. It’s too early to speculate the possibilities of whether the steps taken are fruitful for the development. But at present, these moves are worth appreciating.

Anti-Romeo Squad in Uttar Pradesh-Majnu’s Beware

BJP’s election campaign had a lot of agendas which they are finally implementing. Few days after Adityanath took charge as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the government started cracking down the slaughter houses.

There was another promise which they made was to overcome the ‘Road Side Romeos’ by making an anti-Romeo squad. The main purpose of this squad is to tackle the everyday eve-teasing and harassment of the women in the state against eve-teasing and ensure the safety of the women.

‘Romeo’ is considered to be a symbol of love and romance. But in India, the name itself is degraded and has now associated with stalkers or eve teasers. And hence, the name of the squad.

UP Police had ordered to form anti – Romeo squads in 11 districts of Lucknow zone. These squads will be monitored by the IG, Lucknow.  “Through this squad, we are not trying to harass people but we are trying to take action against those who are harassing the girls,” said Javeed Ahmad, DGP, Uttar Pradesh.

Until now, three men were arrested in Lucknow yesterday. In Pilibhit, the anti-Romeo squad had arrested five alleged eve-teasers on Tuesday. In Meerut, too, alleged eve-teasers were detained by police who were conducting an awareness drive about the squad outside schools and colleges.

“In a bid to check incidents of eve-teasing and passing of comments on women and girls, anti-Romeo dals will be constituted at the police station levels and action under the Goonda Act will be taken against wrongdoers,” said IG (Lucknow Zone) A. Satish Ganesh.

While campaigning in UP election Amit Shah had said in Meerut that the BJP, if voted to power, would form anti-Romeo squads to check eve-teasing. He also promised that in every college there will be anti-Romeo squads which would allow girls to study without fear.

But is this really the Truth? Are the squads just to control eve-teasing? The answer is given by BJP national co-convener Sunil Bharala, has said during the election campaign that anti-Romeo squads will also take action against love jihad. “In love jihad, innocent girls are targeted and lured. To ensure their safety, anti-Romeo squads will be formed,” Bharala said.

However, on anti-Romeo squads, the five-time MP from Gorakhpur had said the force would work towards restoring the pride of women.

Many of whom the anti-Romeo squad has acted have alleged that such actions are nothing but examples of harassing people and moral policing society.

According to a report printed in a newspaper, a boy who was standing outside a college in Meerut to meet a friend was given a warning by the police. The boy was quoted as saying that the police did not know why he was waiting outside the college and that “for them (UP police) any young boy on a bike is a majnu“.

#NLCExclusive: Yogi In Full Action. Demands The List Of All The Slaughter Houses Operating In UP

Since, the time Yogi Adityanath came into power, he started shutting down the illegal slaughter houses in Uttar Pradesh. From Varanasi to Ghaziabad, there is news of putting the ban on slaughterhouses.

Beef has always been a volatile issue in the communal sensitive state, Uttar Pradesh. Incidents like Akhlaq, who was beaten to death on just the rumours of keeping the red meat. And on the contrary, BJP Kashmir leader Khursheed Ahmed Malik  threw a beef party for the sake of religious tolerance.

In recent times, the red-meat had garnered a lot of traction because of the BJP’s announcement in their manifesto to put a ban on all the abattoir in the state. Having a hardline “Hindutva” image, and an aggressive Hindu leader, and having much of the “gaushalas” with his name, these might be many of the reasons why he is so desperate to shut down all the slaughter houses in the state. But, there are still few beef exporters of Beef from Uttar Pradesh, who are still untouched.

This isn’t a big count, they are just 26 big exporters of beef from UP, which should be banned.

Here, we present you the list of these 36 slaughter houses which exports beef from UP.

To keep a tab on CM Yogi Adityanath activities, PM Modi has sent this ‘Special Officer’ to UP.

To keep the Uttar Pradesh administration under the hood of the centre, it has decided that CM Yogi Adityanath’s government will get direction directly from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Principal Secretary of PM Narendra Modi’s Office, Nripendra Misra has been made the monitor of administrative developments in UP, Irony is that the new govt. is yet to find its firm on the firm ground. Nripendra Misra has met with Yogi Adityanath yesterday for 45 minutes in the evening. Media Sources have revealed that such meetings will be regularly held between Nripendra Misra and Yogi Adityanath and Misra will be the mediator between CM Yogi and PM Narendra Modi.

Who is Nripendra Misra?

Nripendra Misra was an IAS officer from UP cadre and especially called by Modi in 2014 when he formed the new government at the Centre. All further appointments in the top administration in Uttar Pradesh will take place after verification of their background through him only.

Sources said that Yogi Adityanath and Nripendra Misra discussed the implementation of government schemes. The two are said to have discussed the strategy about how to propagate the benefits of the schemes directed at serving the poor.

Nripendra Misra and PMO are expected to be in direct touch with UP government. Misra is likely to guide the Yogi government in day-to-day affairs of the state government. Yogi Adityanath and Nripendra Misra are understood to have also discussed the scope of new schemes for Uttar Pradesh.

A change in the outlook of the Uttar Pradesh bureaucracy is likely to take place over next few days. Yogi Adityanath and Nripendra Misra also deliberated over the names of potential top bureaucrats in Uttar Pradesh.
