Suresh Raina’s Wife Priyanka Raina Reveals Her Husbby’s Secret Talent

Priyanka Raina, the wife of Team India batsman Suresh Raina, revealed her husband’s hidden talent during an episode of the TV programme Miss Field. Priyanka Raina in her interview with anchor Shibani Dandekar during the programme said Suresh Raina is a talented singer and still sings well.

“He used to sing a lot. Yeah, he loved singing even then. He’s good yes, for sure”, she told Dandekar in the programme. Priyanka and Suresh Raina tied the knot on April 4, 2015. Priyanka knew Suresh for 20 years before getting married. “Known Suresh since I was ten years old”, she told Dandekar.

She also revealed her father was Raina’s teacher and sports coach in school. “Well my father saw him every day because he was his teacher. He was his sports coach as well. We were neighbours, so my mom and his mother were also very close to each other”, she added.

The star left handed batsmen is currently out of the Indian squad. In 18 Tests that he has played so far, he has scored 768 runs with a century to his name. Raina last played a Test in 2015 against Australia in Sydney where he failed to score a single run. The match had ended in a draw.

He has a decent record in the limited-overs format. In 226 ODIs, Raina has amassed 5615 runs hitting five centuries and 36 fifties at a batting average of 35.31.

At present, he is leading Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Siddharth Kaul’s 1st T20I Wicket Is All You Need To See On Internet

The Indian management decided to bench star players like MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the second and last T20I against Ireland after seeing the kind of fight Ireland put up in the first game. Kaul, whose claim to fame came through his IPL performances for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last two seasons, was also handed debutant in the game.

The second string side, however, went on the aggressive right from the get-go. After Virat Kohli was dismissed for just 9 runs, KL Rahul got together with Suresh Raina to build a staggering 106-run partnership to give India the start they needed. And after that storm had passed, in came Hardik Pandya who ended things with his thunderous style by hitting 32 runs off just 9 balls.

The stage was perfectly set for newbie Kaul to make an impression as Ireland had a mammoth task chasing 214 runs. It took him just two overs to get his first international wicket in Indian colours as he got Irish hard-hitter Shannon on just his fourth ball. However, his joy was shortlived as the field umpire decided to go upstairs to check if he had overstepped. As the third umpire saw the replays to make a final decision, he realized that he had just two angles – one of which was being obstructed by the non-striker. Kaul had a heart in mouth moment as his foot appeared to be over the popping crease.

Looking the repeated replays, the commentators were convinced that Kaul would be denied his maiden wicket because of a no-ball – bringing back memories of India’s professional no-ball expect Jasprit Bumrah. But, to Kaul and everyone’s surprise, the decision given was out with everyone stunned. However, when it is all said and done, Kaul can enjoy his moment in the sun

IPL 2018: Suresh Raina Celebrates Daughter Gracia’s Birthday with MS Dhoni

Suresh Raina’s daughter, Gracia, celebrated her second birthday and the function was attended by Chennai Super Kings players, including skipper MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo.

With eight wins and four defeats, the two-time champions Chennai Super Kings are second on the points tally and are edging closer to making the playoffs of the cash-rich league. Ahead of their clash against Delhi Daredevils, Chennai Super Kings celebrated Suresh Raina’s daughter Gracia’s birthday, who turned two on Wednesday. Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, along with dashing all-rounder Dwayne Bravo turned up to wish Raina’s daughter.

Dhoni, who is known for his calm and composed attitude on the field, has smashed 29 sixes in the tournament.

On the other hand, Raina has scored 315 runs in 11 matches at an average of 35.00. He has three half-centuries to his name.

IPL 2018: Record-breaking Virat Kohli Becomes Highest Run-scorer Of The League

Virat Kohli went past Suresh Raina to become the highest run-scorer in the Indian Premier League.

While Virat Kohli and his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are not having the best of the Indian Premier League IPL (2018), the India captain at least has crossed one landmark when he went past Suresh Raina as the top run-scorer of the league. Raina has scored 4558 runs off 163 innings he has played in the IPL so far. Kohli needed 31 runs to catch up with Raina during the match with Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday and duly crossed the figure, even though his side was always behind the big target.

While the Royal Challengers Bangalore have had no results to write home about, Kohli has been the silver lining for the otherwise floundering side. The captain who scored an unbeaten 92 right at the top of the order was the only major contributor as they tried to chase down the target of 214.

RCB may have lost once again after conceding more than 200 runs for the second consecutive game, but Kohli’s knock means he is now the highest scorer in the ongoing season. Kohli has amassed a total of 201 runs in four innings at an average of 67 and a strike rate of 143.
Against Mumbai, Kohli scored more than 55 percent of the runs for his team and face more than half the balls bowled by the opposition too on his way to recording the second highest individual score (92*) of the season so far. Co-incidentally, the highest individual score so far this season was also scored in Tuesday’s match by Rohit Sharma (94). Indian Virat Kohli did not begin the current season of the IPL in the way he would have liked, but over the last couple of games, first against Rajasthan Royals and then against the Mumbai Indians he has come into his own.

IPL 2018: Suresh Raina to miss CSK’s next Two games due to this Injury

Chennai Super Kings’ Suresh Raina has been ruled out of their next two IPL outings against Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals after he suffered a calf strain in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Raina scored 15 in the match against KKR but only managed 4 in the opener against Mumbi Indians.

Suresh Raina, the mainstay of Chennai Super Kings’ batting line-up, has been ruled of the side’s next two IPL 2018 games versus Kings XI Punjab on Sunday (April 15) and against Rajasthan Royals on Friday (April 20) due to a calf injury.

This will be the first time the left-hander, will miss a game for the Chennai Super Kings. He has been a part of all of CSK’s 134 previous IPL games, helping them make the playoffs on eight occasions, and win the trophy twice.

Raina had suffered the injury during Chennai’s home game versus Kolkata Knight Riders, their first match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in three years. After pinching a single off Sunil Narine in the 10th over, he experienced pain and received medical attention from the team physio Tommy Simsek. Raina was eventually dismissed for 14 after he top-edged a pull to the fielder stationed at long-on. The veteran batsman also couldn’t make a mark in the match against Mumbai Indians, scoring four runs.

Chennai have already lost the services of Kedar Jadhav after he sustained a hamstring injury in the side’s opening fixture of the tournament against Mumbai. Faf du Plessis, the South Africa captain, who is recovering from a finger injury and side strain, could be included for the side’s next game.

Murali Vijay, who suffered a blow on his ribs during a net session before the match against Mumbai, has recovered and could make it to the side. Dhruv Shorey, Kshitiz Sharma, N Jagadeesan and David Willey, Jadhav’s replacement, are the other options.

Chennai have won both their games so far. Dwayne Bravo’s 30-ball 68 inspired them to a one-wicket win versus Mumbai, while Sam Billings enterprising fifty helped the side to chase down a massive target of 203 against Kolkata.

Suresh Raina comeback in focus as India enters Final Tour of South Africa

Suresh Raina returns to the Indian setup after last featuring in the home ODIs against South Africa in 2015.

India have finally entered the final bend of their long endless tour, India and South Africa now gear up to play three T20 Internationals at Johannesburg, Centurion and Cape Town over the next one week, with the first of the three scheduled at the Wanderers on Sunday.

Virat Kohli’s calls to “embrace the South African challenges” hadn’t fallen on deaf ears and the tourists could thus bounce back from a gruelling Test series win to take the ODI leg by an emphatic 5-1 scoreline.

And so the teams move on to a little bout of T20 jostling, so that the game’s stakeholders earn the dividends from the sport even if it lends itself into a more relentless schedule for the teams. The three-match 20-overs-a-side bonanza will begin at the Wanderers and go to Centurion again before culminating where it all started, in Cape Town. All in a space of six days.

In that, India will have the 31-year-old left-hander Suresh Raina returning to the squad after he last played a T20 International for India exactly a year ago against England, in February 2017.

Raina, a veteran of 223 One-day Internationals, last played a 50-over game back in Oct 2015 and has since struggled to get back into the team because of both form and fitness issues.

However, riding on a recent string of scores in the Vijay Hazare Trophy back home, and having spent a year working on his fitness, the Uttar Pradesh cricketer is back in the reckoning and can be expected to play the first T20 against South Africa.

The 11th season of the Indian Premier League starts on April 4, 2018, but before that comes the player auctions. The auction has been a feature of the IPL.

And those five players had to be a combination of at the most three capped Indian players, two uncapped Indian players and two overseas players.

Suresh Raina smashes Century of 49 Balls in presence of Sourav Ganguly

Suresh Raina became the second Indian to score 7,000 runs in Twenty20 matches after Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli (7,068 runs in 226 matches) is the first Indian cricketer to have breached the mark, with West Indies Chris Gayle being the only cricketer in the world to have scored more than 10,000 runs in the format.

Raina’s fitness was one of the things that kept him out of the national side. It’s been more than two years that he is out of the ODI side and last played for India in a T20I against England in January last year.

Star left-hander Suresh Raina on Monday roared back into form with a 49-ball century for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Bengal. Raina remained unbeaten on 126, helping his team post 235/3 in 20 overs. Raina’s 59-ball stay at the crease included 13 fours and 7 sixes. Akshdeep Nath played a fine supporting role with an 80-run knock. Sourav Ganguly, who is president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) was seen applauding Raina’s knock from the sidelines.

Raina had a forgettable run in the Ranji Trophy 2017-18, as he could manage just 33 runs in nine innings of five matches at 11.66.

But on Monday the left-handed batsman roared back into the format he perhaps likes playing the most, smacking as many as 13 fours and 7 sixes to score 126 not out, which is his highest score in the T20 format.

Asked about the motivation to play in the Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, he said: “I play each and every tournament with the same intent. The tournament has many big names and before the IPL and upcoming Asia Cup it’s a nice opportunity.”

The CSK vice-captain further said the tournament will give him an opportunity to see the talented youngsters ahead of the much-anticipated IPL auction on January 27 and 28.

“There are a lot of exciting youngsters like Rinku Singh, there’s also Kuldeep (Yadav) who will play a couple of matches before heading to South Africa. It’s a chance to see many youngsters,” Raina said.

Also, when asked about India’s performance against SouthAfrica, Raina backed India by saying, “They have done well, almost won the first Test. We fought hard and bowled well. South Africa too have not been able to score runs against us. From four innings they (South Africa) are yet to score a century,” he said referring to Virat Kohli’s 153 in the second Test at Centurion.

“Our batting has done well in patches. We have to support the team. We cannot dismiss them, we have some big names who have done well over the years,” he concluded.
