Rajnikant fans wait a bit longer as he puts his political debut on buffer

Rajnikant is one of the most celebrated stars of the country. He is treated like no less than a demigod down south. They have temples dedicated to the man and its government holiday on the release date of his movie. He is on the top no matter what he does. Now, he is set to make his political debut.

His popularity is unparalleled, people have their faith resting in him. While talking to the press he said that he knows what kind of responsibility being a politician brings and he is ready for it. He said that you don’t just need money and fame to succeed in politics, its always much more than that.

Rajni joining some other party is not even a question according to a source. “Being spiritual, Rajini cannot be a Leftist. Not being a hardliner, he cannot be a Rightist too. He will be a centrist as that alone will attract all sections of society,” the source told the Times of India. Which clears the air and assures that Rajni will form his own party.

Rajnikant was expected to make this big announcement on 12th December his birthday. He has not yet made this announcement but he soon will.

Does it mean no or less Rajni movies? Hope not!

Pairing Wines And Friends: 4 Winning Matches

Showing up to meet a friend with a bottle of wine is already a fantastic approach to bonding, but tastes in wine are very personal. Just like food, certain types of friends match better with certain types of wine. Think about its you have your favourite wines and so do they.

1. The girly crew: Prosecco

When sugar, spice and everything nice get together, the result is as lively as the bubbles of this refreshing Italian sparkling wine. Don’t be shy to bring it chilled for a sleepover, or order a bottle to mark the start of an unforgettable girl’s night out.The beauty of Prosecco is that it is an affordable alternative to sparkling wines such as Champagne, but still a lovely wine in its own right so you won’t feel you’re missing out.

2. The sophisticated friend: Chablis

We all have that friend that is pure elegance. Although she’s not necessarily into fashion, you admire her timeless style and know that she puts effort and love into it.Catch up with this chic lady over a bottle of Chablis, one of France’s most popular white wines—and for good reason.
It’s made in a privileged region where the land gives the grapes a distinctive mineral touch, which translates into a crisp, dry white wine that is graceful and neat just like this friend.

3. The cool mentor: Australian Shiraz

Whether they’re a dream boss, a successful colleague or a friendly teacher, having a senior person to look up to and who happens to become our friend is amazing as you get to learn and have fun while you’re together while getting valuable advice and guidance.A lot of red and black fruits will be the main feature of its taste, with a blend of sweet spices and maybe even leather or chocolate to add complexity to the mix.

4. The guy friend: Albariño

Your friendship is completely platonic: you both know that, and no matter how many times people ask if you are dating, he’s almost like family and you’re actually rooting for him to get the girl.Albariño is a Spanish white wine that will make you think about a fun day by the beach at the first sip. A mix of citrus, white flowers and minerals come together in this zesty, life-loving Galician treat.

There’s a wine to match every personality, which means that there’s never a reason not to enjoy a bottle of wine while hanging out with friends. What wines would you recommend?

5 easy cocktails for a Boozy Bold Friday

Good Friday cocktails sounds like a rookie mistake – off licenses are shut, after all, so any last-minute tipples are out.But for those among us whose concept of a good Friday comes served with a slice of lemon, the following recipes are an easy, boozy solution made with some run-of-the-mill ingredients.

Old Fashioned

This American classic predates the motorcar and conjures images of smoky post-war speakeasies, which seems apt on our one day of prohibition.

You’ll need:
  • 60ml (2oz) blended whiskey (Jameson etc)
  • A splash of simple syrup (or agave, maple etc)
  • 2 dashes of bitter

If you don’t have bitter and have no intention of buying any, mix together 2 tablespoons of vodka or rum with a pinch of cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, prunes and orange or lemon peel.

Combine all the ingredients, pour over ice and garnish with a slice of orange or a cherry.

Sangria

Yes, it’s a summer drink and yes, it’s plainly too cold to drink yours outside, but this one’s so easy it had to be included. You can follow this recipe to the book or you can make it up as you go along just be mindful that white wine requires delicate flavours (like cucumbers, green apples and lime) while red wine can handle an infantry of fruits.

You’ll need:
  • 1 bottle of red wine (750ml)
  • 60ml (2oz) brandy (optional; alternatively triple sec)
  • Sliced strawberries (a supermarket-size punnet will do)
  • 2 peaches (or pears, oranges etc)
  • 1 sliced lemon (avoid waxed)
  • Sparkling water to serve

Combine the ingredients and leave in the fridge for several hours. If you have time and want to look like a consummate host, make ice cubes with fruit juice and dunk them in before serving.

Gimlet

While the gimlet probably conjures images of nana getting rowdy at her seventieth, this cocktail’s far too easy to snub:

You’ll need:
  • 60ml (2oz) London Dry Gin
  • 20ml (¾oz) Rose’s Lime Cordial
  • 1 lime wedge to serve

If you don’t have gin then substitute vodka, and if you’ve no Lime Cordial then rustle up the equivalent using limejuice and simple syrup. Stir the ingredients with cracked ice and strain into a cocktail glass with a slice of lime to serve.

Grapefruit Mojito

If the ubiquitous mojito doesn’t do it for you anymore then add some five-a-day to the equation. I’ve suggested a grapefruit but you could opt for an orange instead.

You’ll need:
  • ½ grapefruit
  • 1 or 2 sprigs of fresh mint
  • Honey
  • 40-60ml (1-2oz) white rum (to taste)
  • Club soda
  • Crushed ice

Muddle the grapefruit juice, mint and honey in a highball glass until everything’s broken down. Add some cracked ice and top with rum and club soda for taste.

Whiskey Sour

While this one’s pretty straightforward it pays to taste as you go along, after all you don’t want it to be too sour.

You’ll need:
  • 60ml (2oz) blended whiskey (Jameson etc)
  • 15ml (½oz) fresh lemon juice
  • 15ml (½oz) simple syrup (or agave, maple etc)

There’s nothing to stop you from adding egg white and bitters or tinkering with the potency. Just place everything in a shaker (bar bitters if you’re so inclined) and shake till it’s nice and frothy.

Corruption, a fixed system in Yogi Raj

The power shift in Uttar Pradesh’s politics had paved the way for the much-needed force which had left the party in power at the Centre i.e the BJP in distress. After losing Delhi, Bihar and West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh win came as a relieving pill for the top honchos in the party. Yogi Adityanath took the oath and got the new address to mention, 5, Kalidas Marg, Lucknow.

Announcing the manifesto, or as BJP calls it ‘Shapath Pran’, has the main focus points of law and order and corruption, which had taken the back seat during the Akhilesh Yadav’s tenure, as what BJP project the state.

Taking stern approach on corruption, Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday also announced that the properties of officials found cheating the poor would be seized and will face compulsory retirement.

A few days back, going tough on criminals, the Uttar Pradesh CM has given a free hand to the police for the encounter to maintain the law and order in the state.

Declaring it as a mere publicity stunt, the opposition leader, who doesn’t wish to be named, said, “It’s just the publicity stunt. No such orders have been passed on to the police and criminals are at large”.

Talking on the corruption by the state government, the same leader said that the party now opened a “one window” for corruption, where the person is “appointed by the top leaders from the party”. He says, “The BJP in Uttar Pradesh is now more corrupt than the BSP and SP combined. BJP had opened the one window for corruption, where the person is appointed by the higher authorities and gives you the maximum profit for the party”.

Another opposition leader, on the terms of anonymity, said that “What now is agitating the BJP workers is that anyone can fight the election if he has the money with him”. He said that a well-known builder just parachuted from nowhere and run for the elections of the Mayor. “The builder, as he has got the money, approached the top party members, deposited the said amount and got the ticket”. Adding further, he said, “It all works as a fixed system, where all work in a system”.

The opposition party leaders had also claimed that the slogan of dynasty politics is also a fog-screen to divert the attention of the common man, he says, “An MP from BSP is making all the effort to get the BJP’s ticket for her wife to run for the ward elections. See it just the smog-screen that is created to divert the attention of the common man”.

Rubbishing the claim made by the opposition, the BJP has said that the allegations made by the opposition are baseless and they have no real topic to target the BJP.
