The film’s equipments were destroyed, the director’s clothes were torn off and he was forcefully made to abandon the shoot for the film. Vikram Singh, a Karni Sena activist told that the film portrayed the queen, Rani Padmini, in an incorrect manner. Soon after the attack on the sets in Jaipur, the film’s sets were vandalised once again and put to fire in Kohlapur in March last year. Approximately thirty people reached the sets of the film armed with petrol bombs, stones and lathis, reported IE. Though, none of the film’s cast or crew was injured in the incident.

British Board of Film Classification clears ‘Padmavati’ for release in UK

Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed “Padmavati”, whose release has been postponed amid the protests in India, has been cleared by British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) on Thursday cleared the conflict-ridden Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed Padmavati for a scheduled release on December 1 for the UK audience.

The BBFC has given the film a 12A rating and was passed without any cuts. The 12A rating mandates that the film cannot be viewed by a child under the age of 12 unless accompanied by an adult.

The British Censor Board has listed the film on its official website, stating, Padmavati (12A) moderate violence, injury detail.”

It also mentioned that “all known versions of this work passed uncut”.

“It’s Illegal to export film ‘Padmavati’ to UK before getting a certificate from India,” Nihalani said.

Padmavati has been facing the wrath of various Rajput groups and political leaders, who have accused Bhansali of distorting history.

Many groups have been protesting amid rumours that there was a romantic dream sequence between Rajput queen Padmini and Allauddin Khilji.

However, Bhansali said in an appeal that there was no dream sequence and it was all a rumour.

Historians are divided on whether Padmini actually existed. She finds mention in the 16th-century epic poem Padmavati.

Earlier scheduled to arrive in cinema halls on December 1, the release date of the film has been postponed by the makers until further notice.

If you wanna make any comment on the release of Padmavati in UK instead of been releasing in India then do share the same with us in the below comment box.

Ban removed from Padmavati

The film “Padmavati” will not be banned by the Supreme Court, said judges today, stating that it’s up to the country’s censor board to decide how the film should be released.
Padmavati, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, tells the story of Queen Padmini of Chittoor in Rajasthan and stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.Padmavati is a Historical movie. Audiences are expecting very much from this movie.

The film has run into controversy with some Hindu groups, mainly in Rajasthan, stating that it romanticizes the relationship between Padmini and Alauddin Khilji, the Delhi ruler who was obsessed with her. Legend has it that after her husband was killed, Padmini set herself on fire along with other women to prevent Khilji from taking her prisoner.

The director has denied any intimate scenes or the love story between Padmini and Khilji.

Rajasthan has seen several protests against the 200-crore movie, whose makers say they plan to release it on December 1 though they have yet to submit it for clearance to the censor board.
Earlier this week, a BJP parliamentarian from Madhya Pradesh warned of possible violence if the film is not blocked.
