Congress president Rahul Gandhi hoisted the flag on the 134th foundation day of Congress

Congress president Rahul Gandhi hoisted the flag on the 134th foundation day of Congress.

Today, the Congress Day is being celebrated in the country. Various programs are being organized on this occasion. On the occasion of the 134th foundation day of Congress, party President Rahul Gandhi hoisted the flag and celebrated the cake on Friday.

Gandhi reached party headquarters along with senior leaders and joined the flag hoisting program of the party. After the flag hoisting program, Gandhi cut the cake with former prime minister Manmohan Singh. On the occasion of Congress’s Foundation Day program, party treasurer Ahmed Patel, senior leader Motilal Vora, general secretary Ashok Gehlot and many other leaders and workers were present.

After the program, Ahmed Patel tweeted that 133 years ago today, the world’s largest mass movement began. Since then, this movement has kept itself dedicated towards nation building. He said that history is a witness that those who tried to destroy this movement became the history themselves. This movement is Congress.

Let us tell you that Congress was formed in 1885 in the British Raj. Among his founders, grandfathers like Dada Bhai Naoroji, Ao Hume and Dinsha Prabha were included. When the country got independence in 1947, then Congress became the first major political party in the country. From the independence to the 16 general elections held in 2016, the Congress had won with 6 full majority. Apart from this, four times the Congress led coalition governments at the center. So far, seven Prime Ministers of the country have been from the Congress side. The first number was Jawaharlal Nehru and recently Manmohan Singh was.

The Congress continued to lose in the states since 2014, but the party is in the midst of winning a win in Punjab, then Karnataka and now Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh. Before going to the Lok Sabha elections of 2019, Congress is totally aggressive, the party’s attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi led by Rahul Gandhi continues.

Now the wait is over Congress declared Bhupesh Baghel as new Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh

On Sunday, Congress declared Bhupesh Baghel as new Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. This decision was taken after the lengthy discussion between Congress president Rahul Gandhi and its officials. This is the third time Bhagel has won from the Patan seat in Chhattisgarh. Congress expelled Bjp in Chhattisgarh after 15 years by winning 68 out of 90s Seats.

Rahul Gandhi had the tough task of picking a name from four options-Bhupesh Baghel, TS Singh Deo, Tamradhwaj Sahu and Charan Das Mahant. All four had separately met Gandhi after the election results to present their candidature. In the end, the Congress’s central leadership chose Baghel name over the other three contenders.

Why Baghel is picked for Chhattisgarh CM Post:

2) Baghel led the party by taking  command on own hand and mounting an attack on bjp government on many issues such as corruption inside and outside the assembly.

3) Baghel wasn’t afraid by the litigation. When he was arrested in sex CD scandal and refused to apply for bail and stayed in judicial custody for a couple of days before being impressed upon by the Congress high command to come out on bail and focus upon the election campaigning.

4) Baghel belongs to the Kurmi community occupying 36% of Chhattisgarh population.which is enough for any party to win .

Political journey of Bhupesh Baghel

Bhupesh Baghel was born in a Farmer family on 23 August 1961. In early 80s Bhupesh Baghel started his political career by joining the India youth Congress. He was elected to Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly consecutively in 1993 and 1998 from Patan. Baghel was appointed the minister of state in Digvijay Singh’s cabinet . He was appointed Chairman of MP State Road Transport Corporation in January, 2000.

In November 2000 Chhattisgarh state was created and he became the member of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. He again became MLA in 2003 state election from the same seat. His party lost state government to BJP. He became Deputy Leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly from 2003 to 2008. He lost the Patan legislative assembly seat in 2008 election. He recaptured his traditional patan legislative assembly seat in the 2013 election. Now in 2018, he became the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.

Rahul Gandhi Kailash Yatra: Congress President Seeks To Silence Trolls Questioning On His Visit

Many on Twitter had questioned the authenticity of photos posted by Rahul wondering if they were taken by him or just results of a Google search of Mansarovar images.

When Congress President Rahul Gandhi posted pictures from his Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, several questioned if he was actually there as none of the pictures featured him. Busting theories of him not undertaking the yatra, pictures, and videos of the Congress chief have been released.

In the video, Rahul can be seen at a camp interacting with fellow pilgrims. He can also be seen in pictures with other people who are undertaking the yatra.

The photos that Rahul had posted of his visit had prompted Twitter to question the authenticity of them being taken during his yatra. Several questioned if it was just a result of a Google search of Mansarovar images.

They had questioned why Rahul did not post any selfies if he was actually present at Kailash Mansarovar. People had been asking him for ‘selfie’ evidence to prove that he was undertaking the yatra.

Posting a picture of Kailash Mansarovar, he had said on Twitter that there is no hatred there. “The waters of lake Mansarovar are so gentle, tranquil and calm. They give everything and lose nothing. Anyone can drink from them. There is no hatred here. This is why we worship these waters in India.” He added that a man goes to Kailash when it calls him.

His visit was earlier clouded in controversy over reports that he ate non-veg food before beginning the yatra. Local websites had quoted a waiter at a restaurant where he took a halt saying that Rahul had ordered Chicken Kurkure and momos before he embarked on the yatra.

However, the restaurant later came out in defence of the Congress chief and gave a statement to clear the air. The Vootoo restaurant said: “There has been plenty of inquiry from the media regarding the food ordered by Rahul Gandhi, President of Indian National Congress during his visit at Vootoo. We would like to clarify that he ordered pure veg items from the menu.”

No more a crown prince; Rahul Gandhi officially named as Congress Vice President

Ending the 19-year long, the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday officially declared as the Party President. The announcement came amidst the Gujarat election where Rahul Gandhi is proving his mettle to take on the higher post.

Congress’ Central Election Authority (CEA) chairperson Mullapally Ramachandran announced Rahul Gandhi as the party president.

The party CEA also said that Gandhi will be taking over the party reigns from December 16, following the submission certificate at the All India Congress Committee office in Delhi.

The announcement came soon after the deadline to withdraw nomination papers ended at 3 pm on Monday.

From the beginning, the internal poll was a one-horse race with Gandhi being the only one to file the nomination, which was supported by 89 signatures.

The party which has ruled the country for over half-a-century since Independence, and which has lost all grounds of the political field, the 47-year-old scion of the Nehru-Gandhi family has a daunting task to revive the lost glory to the party.

Speaking to CNN News18, Member of Parliament (MP) from Assam and Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi said, “This is a new day and a new beginning for Rahul Gandhi. He will take us away from the fractured path of Narendra Modi and BJP. Today starts another era for the Congress Party”.

Media reports quoted former union minister and senior party leader M Veerappa Moily said that outgoing Congress president Sonia Gandhi will continue to play an effective role and guide the destiny of the party.
