China has quietly resumed its activities in the Doklam area and neither Bhutan nor India has sought to dissuade it, a top US official has said while comparing Beijing’s actions in the Himalayan region with its manoeuvres in the disputed South China Sea.
China claims sovereignty over all of South China Sea. Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei and Taiwan have counter claims.
China is engaged in hotly contested territorial disputes in both the South China Sea and the East China Sea. Beijing has built up and militarised many of the islands and reefs it controls in the region. Both areas are stated to be rich in minerals, oil and other natural resources and are also vital to global trade.
India and China have clashed repeatedly over territories in the Himalayas. Most recently Chinese and Indian troops faced off on the disputed Doklam plateau between Bhutan and China after the Chinese People’s Liberation Army began building roads through the area
Troops of India and China were locked in a 73-day-long standoff in Doklam from June 16 last year after the Indian side stopped the building of a road in the disputed tri-junction by the Chinese Army.
Bhutan and China have a dispute over Doklam. The face-off ended on August 28
Looks like Ex- BSP leader and current BJP member Brajesh Pathak has sudden change in his attitude since joining the new party. The Uttar Pradesh leader was apparently in scuffle fight with ‘National Dastak’ Reporter Shambhu Kumar Singh on Wednesday. Brajesh Pathak slapped Shambhu Kumar Singh, after the news reporter asked about Mayawati allegations against Pathak’s familism.
According to Shambhu Kumar Singh, The interview was scheduled on Brajesh Pathak’s Vitthal Bhai House, Room no. 23 govt. allotted room and after some initial general questions, Brajesh Phatak lost his mind completely when he asked about Mayawati’s familism allegations, and slapped him hard across his face, Pathak supporters even broke National Dastak camera and take away the memory chip. Shambhu Kumar Singh later registered a FIR on Sansad Marg Police Station. Shambhu Kumar Singh has also said that Brajesh Pathak not attacked him but he actually attacked the media industry not him alone. Pathak joined the saffron organisation in the presence of its president Amit Shah and Union minister Mahesh Sharma and was described as a pillar in the Hardoi-Unnao region of the state. But, recent news was not at all what BJP would have hoped for this Uttar Pradesh leader.

Looks like Daya Shankar-Mayawati case, after Swati Singh, Dayashankar’s wife, who has risen like a phoenix from the ashes to save the honour of her family, and even more importantly, her party become a new fan-favourite or should i say ‘party-favourite’ overnight, is now a BJP guaranteed contestant for Assembly elections in 2017, acc. to the sources.
Source close to the party on the request of anonymity tells News Leak Centre that, UP in-charge Om Mathur and BJP President Amit Shah were impressed by the way Daya Shankar’s wife Swati Singh handled the issue and turned the tide for BJP, which at one point looked like a total disaster for the party in next year assembly elections. Now senior party members believe that taking Swati Singh enfolds for elections will help greatly in party favours. Swati Singh hails from the Ballia constituency and now expected to contest the Assembly elections in 2017, the constituency which was earlier planned for her husband Daya Shankar Singh.
The BJP went on back foot on July 20th after its state vice-president Dayashanker Singh’s press conference comparing Mayawati with a sex worker became viral inviting criticism and condemnation both in and outside the Parliament. Finance minister Arun Jaitley even apologised for the disparaging remarks by Singh and later in the day, the BJP expelled Singh from the party for six years. The BSP gave a call for a dharna in Lucknow the next day
where BSP leaders spitted venom against Singh and his family members. Swati’s back-to-the-wall fight seems to have made a telling impact on the mindset of the silent, apolitical majority which has been overwhelmed by her impassioned plea: “The BSP people have lodged an FIR against my husband for what he had said. But now they are demanding that my daughter and I be produced before them. What crime have we committed? If nasty words can hurt Mayawatiji, why will these not hurt us, particularly my daughter? The 12-year-old daughter has already gone through acute mental trauma as a result of the filthy threats that she has been hearing.”
Tens of thousands of messages were posted on the social media in support of Swati’s cause. This apart, many NGOs, social activists and students cutting across caste lines came out in her support within hours of lodging of the FIR against BSP leader Nasimuddin Siddiqi and others who had addressed the pro-Mayawati rally in Lucknow on Friday.
The BJP couldn’t have asked for more. In New Delhi, party strategists who had absolutely no idea about the way things were developing spontaneously in UP to their advantage. Thanks to Swati’s exploits, BJP panic state cools down itself. But it does raise a question that Is BJP really wanted to punish Daya Shankar Singh for his derogatory remark against BSP Supremo Mayawati? If BJP wins the election and forms a government in Uttar Pradesh, than it’s a no-brainer that party will reward Swati Singh efforts to turn the tide and even give her the posts that were originally meant for her husband. Mayawati-DayaShankar-Swati drama proved one thing for sure –Any type of publicity, whether it’s good or bad will help you if you know how to use it.
Pahlaj Nihalani as CBFC Chief, Gajendra Chauhan as FTII chief and now Chetan Chauhan as NIFT Chief like really. These appointment irked controversy. The moment news spread about Former Cricketer’s appointment in NIFT twitter and Facebook started trolling about this decision.
Former cricketer, Chetan Chauhan already is juggling a number of profiles. He is the vice-president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and in addition to this he is serving as a senior BCCI official, and is also running a cricket academy in Delhi’s Saket Sports Complex. If this was not enough for he we would like to tell you that he also has his own printing press company!
According to the NIFT Act 2006, the chairperson of the Board of Governors (BOG) is expected to be “an eminent academician, scientist or technologist or professional, to be nominated by the ‘Visitor’ of the institute, which is the President. The term of the appointment is three years. The chairman is also part of the reviewing authority for a number of senior academic and administrative positions at the institute.
Arun Jaitley’s strong aid, Chetan was earlier unhappy with the government. Even he lobbied many times for his wife, who is working with a Public sector bank but could not get her posted at desired location.
Speaking to News Leak Centre BJP MP and Former cricketer Kirti Azad said “I am very happy for Chetan ji. He has been rewarded for signing fake bills in DDCA and filling defamation cases for those who is raising voice against corruption in cricket.” Now that’s a statement isn’t it?
Now a simple question arises that why didn’t Goverment just picked up a smart BJP leaning fashion designer to head NIFT. What’s the point of making Chetan Chauhan in-charge? Well, the answer is very simple ‘dearness’.
