“The ANSHAN Man Wins Another Battle”

In the battle between the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, the Supreme Court on Wednesday gave more power to the elected government in Delhi and limited the role of the L-G. “The Lieutenant Governor can’t act in a mechanical manner and refer all decisions of the council of ministers to President.

The L-G & role can’t be obstructionist, he must work together with the council of ministers and respect their decisions,” Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra said while reading out the verdict of the five-judge Constitutional bench.

In addition to the CJI, the bench comprised Justices AK Sikri, AM Khanwilkar, DY Chandrachud and Ashok Bhushan later Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said that the Supreme Court has given us clarity on the tussle between the AAP government and L-G Anil Baijal. “It does not matter who controls what…the L-G and the CM have to work together.

The Congress was in power for 15 years, we never quarrelled with the L-g like this,” she said. This has clearly given AAP the upper hand, all eyes and ears now focus at Arvind Kejriwal as to observe his next move.

NGT Stops Delhi Govt From Implementing Odd-Even Without Enough Proof Of Effectiveness

The National Green Tribunal rapped the Delhi government on its decision to implement the Odd-Even scheme from November 13, to curb the increasing pollution levels in the city.

The NGT which reviewed the decision on Friday has directed the govt to produce details of ambient air quality during earlier odd-even schemes.
It also showed apprehensions over its implementation, asking the govt why it was announced this year despite reports from CPCB and DPCC that it was ineffective.
The tribunal has directed the Delhi govt that it will not implement odd-even rule unless it establishes that the scheme is not counter-productive.
Nothing has been done from your end for the past one year, NGT told the Delhi Govt.
“The Supreme Court and the NGT have suggested 100 measures to curb pollution but you always opted for Odd-Even. Delhi Govt will have to justify this. When the situation is improving, the govt is trying to implement odd-even. you should have done this earlier if you wanted to. This will now cause inconvenience to people,” it said.
Hearing to continue tomorrow.

The odd-even car rationing scheme was scheduled to be rolled out in Delhi for five days from November 13 as part of a graded response plan to tackle the alarming level of pollution in the city.
A landmark IIT-Kanpur study, which covered the period 2013-14, said during winters, vehicles are the second largest and the “most consistent” contributing source of pollutants PM10 and PM2.5.
In terms of percentage, it comes to around 20-25 percent during winters, the report says. The contribution of road dust is negligible during the colder months unlike summer when it plays a bigger role, it adds.
However, there’s a catch.
The share of two-wheelers (which are exempt from the Odd-Even scheme) three-wheelers, four-wheelers, trucks and light commercial vehicles in the total vehicular contribution shows that trucks and two-wheelers are the major polluters.
According to the study, which was commissioned by the Sheila Dikshit government, the share of four-wheelers in the break up of vehicular contribution is 10 percent each in cases of both PM2.5 and PM10.
On the other hand, the share of trucks and two-wheelers stand at around 46 percent and 33 percent respectively.

Delhiites prepare for odd-even rerun of woes

Arvind Kejriwal government has announced the implementation of odd-even scheme from November 13 to 17 in Delhi. Kejriwal said the decision on the odd-even drive to be taken as a press to let Delhi breathe.

The Delhi government’s planning to reintroduce the rule to have odd-even number cars on alternate days is to minimize the Capital’s toxic smog.

The decision has been taken following the Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal’s held a high-level meeting in view of air pollution and directed the transport department to start preparing for the odd-even scheme.

The second preparatory meeting was held regarding the scheme’s implementation along with Commissioner Transport, Divisional Commissioner, CMD DTC, DIMTS.

Here how the CM Kejriwal has to say all about crop burning and its ill-effects.

“Everyone has to work together to solve this problem. We are seeking time from all stakeholders to deal with this emergency situation,” said Mr Kejriwal.

As Delhi’s toxic smog thickens, the possibility of odd-even scheme was already on the cards. How much will this actually reduce the pollution level will be ascertained later but one thing is sure that past experiences with odd-even weren’t pleasant and satisfactory considering the poor public transport of Delhi.

After Sisodia CBI Reaches Satyendra Jain Residence.

In an apparent move to step up pressures on Delhi government and its Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reaches out to the residence of Health Minister Satyendra Jain, to grill his wife related to an alleged money laundering case on Monday morning.

According to reports, the CBI reached the Minister’s residence as per the time given by his wife for certain clarification in the ongoing investigation into the alleged money laundering. However, the central agency had clarified that there is no raid and searches being conducted in any of the ways.

A Preliminary Enquiry (PE) was registered against the Health Minister in the month of April to inquire into the alleged money laundering case.

Blaming the central government of vendetta politics, Delhi Chief Minister and the Aam Aadmi Party Chief, Arvind Kejriwal, has come out in the support of the Health Minister and tweets, “Central govt (sic) of BJP is misusing CBI for its vendetta politics. After Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, BJP’s CBI raids on Minister,”
It was alleged that the Health Minister is involved in the money laundering to the tune of Rs 4.62 crore while being a public servant during 2015-16 through Prayas Info Solutions private limited, Akinchand developers private limited and Managalyatan projects private limited.

The allegations against Jain also include purported money laundering to the tune of Rs 11.78 crore during 2010-12 through these companies and Indometal Impex Pvt limited.

CBI Turns its barrel towards Kejriwal’s Deputy Sisodia, grills him on corruption charges

Social media is on fire and abuzz with the breaking news of CBI team grilling Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi in connection with Aam Aadmi Party’s ‘Talk to AK’ campaign.

As per some reports, a CBI team today morning reached the house of Manish Sisodia, who is considered as the No 2 leader in AAP after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to record his statement in a case which was filed last year. The case was related to alleged financial irregularities in AAP’s campaign of “Talk to AK”.

However, CBI sources denied that it was a raid, saying it was merely seeking clarification.

The CBI had in January this year registered a preliminary enquiry (PE) against Manish Sisodia and others in connection with alleged irregularities in AAP government’s social media campaign – Talk to AK.

The CBI had raided Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Principal Secretary’s office in an alleged corruption case, which drew angry reactions from the Chief Minister who accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of using the probe agency to “intimidate” him and his government in 2015.

This is a developing news story. More details still awaited.

Protests in the Indian Parliament are almost an every-day affair now. It is almost a dream to expect our political leaders to ever let a session go by smoothly with them giving each other time to speak and voice their opinions. However, what happened on Wednesday in the Delhi Assembly proved that there is no difference between a session in India and a fist-fight on the road.

The speaker kept shouting “Bashar nikka lo inhe… Bashar nikka lo.” After the incident, out reporter contacted the MLA, Punky Pandey, present at the time of the incident said that the words of the speaker was misinterpreted and was misrepresented in context. The speaker wanted to convey that the leader should be respectfully moved out from the premises, but the over excited MLAs took it otherwise and took Kapil Mishra out rather in a most relevant manner.

Kapil Mishra compares himself to Abhimanyu, in the latest ‘AAP-Gatha’.

We all know that this will happen eventually, right? While we have seen the power struggle in Baahubali movie recently, the real-life power struggle is happening in Aam Aadmi Party.

Sacked AAP minister Kapil Mishra, who has leveled serious corruption charges against AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, has now challenged Kejriwal to contest election against him.

“Be it my constituency Karawal Nagar or even from New Delhi seat, I challenge you to contest an election against me, I am ready to resign, what about you? If you believe that people are with you than contest an election from your New Delhi seat,” Mishra said while reading out a letter to his ‘Guru’.

The drama didn’t end here Kapil Mishra also compares himself as Abhimanyu, the famous mythological character from Hindu-epic saga Mahabharat, In the thirteenth day of the battle of Dharma, Abhimanyu was obliged to break through the cakravyuha, the wheel formation of the Kaurava army. Though he fought valiantly, he was surrounded by a multitude of Kaurava warriors including Drona, Karna, Duryodhana and Dushasana. He was killed in this battle as he was ignorant of the technique of extricating himself out of that cakravyuha. However, before laying down his life, he fought bravely against the greatest of the Kaurava warriors and displayed remarkable heroism.

Mishra says sorry to Kejriwal and also seeks his blessings for his fighting against corruption.

Whereas Duryodhana sorry, AAP chief Kejriwal has promised that he will expose the big conspiracy against his party and electronic voting machine tampering scandal today at 2 pm.

Then the Dushashan oops no no sorry Manish Sisodia has also lashed out at Mr Mishra for naming Mr Kejriwal’s brother-in-law, who died on Monday. “Have some humanity. Not even two hours after the cremation, allegations are being made against the person.”

It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds in upcoming days but we have just one thing to say to sacked minister Kapil Mishra that it was Arjuna who lifted weapons against his own teacher, not Abhimanyu!

#AAPLive: Arvind Kejriwal took Rs. 2 Crore bribe from a minister Says Kapil Mishra.

Delhi’s sacked Water Minister Kapil Mishra claims that he saw Health Minister Satyendra Jain handing Rs. 2 crores in cash to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The shocking allegation triggered a political crisis and a bad PR for the party. BJP and Congress have called for police action and a CBI investigation against the current Chief Minister. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has called Mr. Mishra allegations baseless—who had announced Mr. Mishra’s removal from the cabinet yesterday.

The 36-year-old former minister said he had met Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal this morning and revealed all to him. But he also said he was not quitting AAP. “AAP is my party,” he said. “Where did the money come from? They must say what was done with the money?” Kapil Mishra said at the promised tell-all meeting at the Mahatma Gandhi memorial in Rajghat. Mr. Mishra had earlier tweeted that he has “witnessed HIM taking illegal cash”.

Mr. Mishra’s removal — the latest in a string of upheavals to hit the Aam Aadmi Party — came last evening minutes after a series of tweets from him promised a “massive expose on tanker scam”. Mr. Mishra had said he had already met Mr. Kejriwal and informed him about the matter. But the Chief Minister’s response was not what he had desired. Alleging a “major conspiracy,” he said, “Arvind Kejriwal is directly calling up many AAP leaders and legislators… huge conspiracy ahead of my press conference… won’t stop, won’t bend”.

Calling it an “implosion”, BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said while Mr. Kejriwal came to power promising honest governance, “He is now the most corrupt politician in the history. This is the fastest degeneration of a political party we have seen”. Pointing out that seven ministers of Delhi are facing corruption charges, the Congress called Mr. Mishra’s allegations “very serious”. “I think it is an affidavit he’s produced to the people. The CBI must lodge a First Information Report in this case”.

The party has inducted two new faces into the cabinet – Seemapuri MLA Rajendra Pal Gautam and Najafgarh legislator Kailash Gahlot who will replace Mr. Mishra as the Water Minister.

Mr. Mishra is considered close to Kumar Vishwas, who headlined AAP’s internal crisis that spilled out into the open last week. Like Mr. Vishwas, he was one of the few AAP leaders who had contradicted the party’s stand blaming Electronic Voting Machines for its humiliating defeat in the Delhi municipal elections.

BJP Chose Not To Celebrate MCD Victory, Dedicates Win To Martyred CRPF Jawans

Heading towards a clean sweep in all the three civic bodies, the BJP today dedicated its impending win to the slain CRPF personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district and decided to refrain from any celebrations.

As per the trends, the BJP candidates were maintaining leads over their AAP and Congress rivals in most of the 270 wards for which voting was held on Sunday last.

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said that the every heart is filled with grief over the killing of 25 CRPF men in Sukma and the party will not celebrate the victory.

“But for the Sukma incident, we would be on the streets celebrating this massive victory. We dedicate this win in the feet of Sukma martyrs,” he said. Tiwari also asserted that the results of MCD polls were a referendum on Kejriwal government.

“We had been saying this earlier also that MCD polls will be a referendum on Kejriwal government. Arvind Kejriwal used to advocate Right to Recall and it seems now that Delhi people have used the right on him,” he said.

Counting of votes began at 8 AM today with BJP gaining leads in all the three municipal corporations- NDMC, SDMC, and EDMC. Voting for 270 of the total 272 municipal wards was held on April 23. Two wards where candidates died, voting was canceled.
