#Mohali #2nd ODI INDvsSL: All eyes on Team India’s performance

Will India be able to do it in absence of Kohli?

Virat honeymooning, Team India struggles to keep the honeymoon going.

Second ODI is underway in Mohali and India looks solid in the early hours of play. Stand-in Captain Rohit and Opener Shikhar Dhawan are trying to reverse the course of 1st ODI’s debacle. In fact they are under tremendous pressure to win the game to salvage the image as well as keeping the series alive.

Rohit playing his first series as a captain will want to deliver it in absence of Kohli. There will be records on the blocks waiting to be broken, feats waiting to be achieved.

Mr Dependable M S Dhoni is one fine inning away from being the fourth Indian to make 10000 runs.
India can break the Australian record of longest series winning streak of 9 series on trot by winning the 10th series.

It has really a been long home season for team India. A dream run till now. India looked dominant all throughout the year, they have been on top of their game. Number tells the story better, India has matched the record of the greatest Australian side of winning 9 series on a trot. But the history of the game is filled with the story of the underdogs rising strong and that is what makes the game of cricket what it is. The likes of New Zealand, Australia and, England who rank well above this average Sri Lankan side failed to put up even a decent fight. But this Sri Lankan side who were expected to be whitewashed at least in the ODI’s after rain and Dhananjay spoiled the party in the tests have given India a hard time. They broke their 12 match losing streak by defeating India by 7 wickets in Dharamshala putting team India in a ‘do or die’ situation.

Now, let us see if Rohit and his team manages to finish this grand home season on high and carry this confidence to Africa.
