Irfan Pathan cheeky response to wrongly-tagged tweet is going viral

Indian pacer Irfan Pathan who has been subject to social media trolling on several occasions was, for once, not on the receiving end.

When Irrfan Khan bagged the Best Actor trophy at the Filmfare Awards on Saturday for Hindi Medium little did he know the Indian pacer would get credit for it.

It all started when a leading magazine posted a tweet to congratulate Khan but ended up tagging the cricketer instead. They wrote, “It was definitely well deserved, @IrfanPathan”.

But an error in putting out a congratulatory tweet saw a leading entertainment magazine’s Twitter handle conveying wishes to the Indian cricketer and not the actor.

Irfan was impish in his reply, as he apologised for not being present at the award function and requested the trophy to be sent at his home. Irfan’s reply had many of his followers in splits.

And Twitterati had a good laugh.

The 33-year-old all-rounder made his last international appearance in late 2012, and has also not been among the most sought after players during Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions.
