India’s U-19 Cricket team wins against Pakistan; Twitter lauds ‘The Wall’ for success

It wasn’t a mere victory for the U-19 Indian cricket team, but a war which they won against the common frenemy, Pakistan in the semi-final of ICC U-19 World Cup 2018. Prithvi Shaw’s men didn’t let their fan down as they come down hard on arch-rivals by 203 runs, handing their opponents the worst defeat. Batting first, Men in Blue put a decent 273-runs total on board, thanks to a magnificent century from opener Shubham Gill, who has been one of the highlights for India in the coveted tournament.

Gill scored 102 not out of 94 balls as India went on to score 272/9 in their allotted 50 overs and then bowled Pakistan out for a mere 69 in just 29.3 overs. Cricket fraternity was full of praise for the Indian team, who have been unbeaten in the tournament so far:

Gill, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 1.8 crore in the Indian Premier League players auction, had hit a match-winning 86 in the quarterfinals against Bangladesh. He is the teams leading scorer with 341 runs.
