‘I packed coconuts in my suitcase to Israel, he brought oranges, avocados to India’: Kalki shares her Inter-Faith Love Story with an Israeli boyfriend

Actress Kalki Koechlin is one of the Bollywood actors who had never been shy of experimenting with roles and never even backed down from expressing love and her opinions.

Kalki recently took to social media to pen a long note wherein she revealed details about her love story with her Israeli musician boyfriend Guy Hershberg. She not only talked about overcoming cultural differences but also shared details about their first meeting as well. Posting a lovely picture of herself with boyfriend and co-parent Guy Hershberg, on Instagram, Kalki revealed how the two met.

She wrote the post for the India Love Project. Revealing how she met Guy, she wrote, “We met at a petrol station on the way to the Dead Sea and started a conversation that lasted us several years of togetherness and a baby. We did the Bombay-Jerusalem commute every month for a couple of years where I used to pack fresh coconuts in my suitcase to Israel and he brought kilos of oranges and avocados to India.”

Talking about their lives together, she wrote, “He got me to eat middle-eastern salad for breakfast, I got him to eat three regular meals a day. He learned to make biryani and I, shakshuka. He took Hindi classes and watched French films, I started online Hebrew classes and learned to listen to western classical music. He likes his coffee with cardamom, I like my chai with milk and sugar.”

Not only this but Kalki even shared that even after having a baby together they continue to fight every day about doing the dishes but still split the dessert into equal parts. “He’s Jewish, part Russian, part Polish, part Iranian. I’m of French origin, born and brought up in India. My first name is Hindu, my last name is Protestant. We have a daughter with a Greek name to whom we speak in Hebrew, French, Hindi, and Tamil. We don’t follow any religious rites at home but we share our different customs and food. We fight every day about whose turn it is to do the dishes and we always split our dessert into equal parts,” she added

At a time when things like ‘love jihad ‘ are making their way into the very fabric of the legal system, it’s stories like these that remind us of the power of love.Just like Kalki’s story of love and parenthood with her partner, Guy Hershberg.

Kalki was married to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. After staying in Marriage for 4 years, the couple parted ways in 2015. Kalki then started dating Guy Hershberg. The couple welcomed their daughter Sappho on February 7, 2020.

On the work front, Kalki was seen in a cameo role in the Tamil film Nerkonda Paarvai.She also played a supporting role in Gully Boy.
