#FarmersProtest: Cops used Barbed Wires and Trucks as barriers to prevent farmers from reaching Delhi.

New Delhi: Farmers are getting lathi- charge and tear gas at Haryana-Delhi border and conflicted with cops who tried to stop them from entering the national capital as farmers were continuing their “Delhi Chalo” Movement for a huge protests against new farm laws. Large groups of farmers are seen carrying essentials and stocks of food along with them.

Farmers were trying to enter Delhi from many points by crossing barricades. Haryana Police even dug trenches at various crossing points. On Friday, many farmers got tear gassed by Haryana Police as they were seen clashing with the police who tried to push them back.

Trucks carrying sand and barbed wire barricades were placed at Haryana-Delhi border to prevent the farmers from entering the city. Apart from that, many police officers cited coronavirus rules to stop the protestors.

Delhi Police has sought the permission to turn nine stadiums including Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium into makeshift “jails” to detain the protesting farmers but the permission got denied by the Delhi Government.

Farmers are coming to Delhi from six states Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Kerala, and Punjab and plan to unite at Ram Leela Maidan in Delhi for a massive protest.
