Delhi became Shimla after heavy rain, Hailstorm

DELHI BECAME SHIMLA AFTER HEAVY RAIN, HAILSTORM

Delhi, for few hours became Shimla when heavy rain and hailstorm was there in some areas on Thursday evening. According to weather office report, the temperature at around 6 pm was 17 degrees Celsius.

Twenty-three domestic flights and nine international flights were diverted due to bad weather, news agency ANI reported. Commuters had to face a lot of problems.

 A chartered plane carrying Harayana Chief Minister Monohar Lal Khattar was also among the plane which got diverted. He was flying from Jodhpur to Delhi but got diverted to Jaipur. But later he took a regular flight to Delhi.

According to the reports of System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the overall AIQ was reported 265. There was very few decrease in the index due to shortage of rain, not enough rain was recorded.

“The sky will remain cloudy for the day. Few places are likely to witness light to moderate rain or thunderstorm and hail”, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

16 Delhi-bound trains were delayed by two to six hours due to fog and low visibility. The city witnessed 1 mm of rain. A lot people took to their twitter account and posted pictures of how Delhi was wrapped with a thick white blanket.
