Amit Shah allocated late PM Vajpayee’s residence, will share the neighbourhood with CJI Ranjan Gogoi

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to allot late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee residence at Krishna Menon Marg. Atal Bihari Vajpayee moved to Krishna Menon Bungalow in 1990 and lived there for 14 years with his family and moves out of the bungalow in 2004 when his party was voted out of power.

Incidentally, Amit Shah will be sharing neighbourhood with Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi. As bungalow no. 6A will be allotted to Amit Shah whereas bungalow no. 6 is the residence of CJI Ranjan Gogoi. Now the two most controversial people in their respective fields will be sharing neighbourhood.

“The official bungalow of the former prime minister on Krishna Menon Marg has been allotted to Union Home Minister Amit Shah,” a government source told PTI. 

According to sources, Shah, who is also the BJP president, recently visited the house and suggested some changes following which renovation work has started. “The renovation work should be completed in a month or two,” another source said. Currently, Shah is based at his old residence at 11 Akbar road in Delhi.
