Many high profiles were been hacked on Wednesday including US presidential candidate Joe Biden, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, former US President Barack Obama, and billionaire Elon Musk, among many others – used to solicit digital currency.
Hours later the first wave of the hack, the reason for the breach has not made public yet. At the time of this serious issue, Twitter took a step in preventing at least some verified accounts to publishing messages altogether.
It is not yet clear whether all verified users were affected or not But if they were it would have a huge impact on platform and its user. verified users include journalists, celebrities, government, politicians, And many more.
Most users had the ability to restore Tweet hours later. Twitter said In there statement, however, it is cautioned account functionality “may come and go” as it is going on to get a solution.
Chief executive Jack Dorsey Says that the company is analyzing the problem and pledge to share “everything we can when We have a more complete understanding of what exactly happened”.
He says in a tweet, “Tough day for us at Twitter. We all feel terrible this happened.”
The unusual scope of this worst hacking suggests that hackers may have accessed at the system level as compared to an individual account . as account compromises are not rare experts were shocked at the coordination of Wednesday’s incident.
“This appears to be the worst hack of a major social media platform yet”, says Dmitri Alpervitch who is the co-founded cybersecurity.
Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Congressman Frank Pallone Has called upon a company to account for what went wrong.
He tweeted, “Twitter needs to explain How all these prominent accounts were hacked”.
Among other users who were affected includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, corporate account for Uber and Apple, many accounts of cryptocurrency-focused companies were also hacked.
