The Great Khali reveals why he left WWE and the other secrets

Former Indian WWE star the Great Khali left the World Wrestling Entertainment back in the year 2014 and returned to India to start the Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) which is an Indian professional wrestling promotion academy. After 3 long years, Khali revealed the reason behind taking this massive step.

According to ANI, Khali spoke about his stint in the globally renowned wrestling facility and said,

“The WWE has failed in India. They thought they would leave the Great Khali after using him. I tried to leave WWE long before but each time I tried, they offered me a contract. Finally, in 2014, I decided to leave it once my contract ended and decided not to work with them ever again. Then I came back and opened CWE in Punjab which is doing well.”

The Indian wrestler also believes that the future of wrestling in India is bright till the youth keeps themselves fit and says no drugs. Khali said,

“If wrestling in India is handled in a better way with proper coaching and facilities, it has a bright future. An Indian sportsman has a weak mentality. They feel that the consumption of drugs will help in enhancing their performance and will help them in clinching a medal. Even though they receive too much of love after winning medals, they lose concentration on sports.”

Khali also asked the young sportsmen to steer clear from doping and focus on their game. He said,

“Sportspersons compete to get a medal for once and do not think about long-term. By consuming a drug, a sportsperson can reach heights only for a limited time-period. I urge sportsperson to not engage in doping and concentrate on having a proper diet and getting proper coaching.”

The Great Khali, also known as Dalip Singh Rana, gained limelight after he became the first Indian wrestler to fight in the American WWE and beat the World Champion, The Undertaker. He has also featured in several films and was also the runner-up of the Big Boss season 4.
