Shocking ! Panchayat in MP, punishes a 5 year old girl for her father’s mistake.

A shocking incident came in light on Saturday where a Panchayat in Tarapur village of Guna district in  Madhya Pradesh has punished the parents of the girl for a mistake he had committed three years back. They have ordered a family to marry off their 5-year-old daughter to an 8-year-old boy. The order, which reportedly, is the punishment for the parents of the girl was pronounced on Saturday.

Reportedly, the girl’s father Jagdish Banjara had hit a calf with a stone while it was grazing in his field. The pelting of stone killed the calf. During the first hearing of the case, the Panchayat had ordered social boycott of the family. On Saturday, the Panchayat took up the case for the second time and ordered the family to marry off their 5-year-old daughter to an 8-year-old boy if they want the imposition of social boycott to be lifted.

In lieu of this Niyaz Khan, the ADM of Guna district has ordered a probe team to visit the village. “We are sending a probe team to this village, strict action will be taken against the culprits,” Khan was quoted as saying by news agency.
