Shocking: Mohalla clinic doctor, wife and daughter tested positive for Covid19, 800 people quarantined.

Health officials on Wednesday announced that a Delhi Mohalla Clinic doctor has tested positive for coronavirus. His wife and daughter too have been found infected. Alarmed by the development, the authorities asked patients who visited Mohalla Clinic in Maujpur’s Mohanpuri area between March 12 and March 18 to stay in home quarantine for 14 days.

Confirming the news, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said that a Mohalla Clinic doctor and four others have been tested positive after they came in contact with an infected woman who returned from Saudi Arabia.

Jain added that 800 people, who came in contact with the doctor, have been quarantined for 14 days.

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Shahdara, had asked the visitors of the Mohalla Clinic in Maujpur to contact the control room if they develop any symptoms.

The doctor has been identified as Gopal Jha. The clinic has, meanwhile, been shut and is being sanitised.

Notably, Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics have been set up the Delhi government to provide primary health care services.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain on Thursday said the total number of coronavirus positive cases has reached 36 in the national capital. “A helpline number ‘1031’ has been set up for those who need e-passes.”
