Meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Rakhi’ sister from Pakistan

Amid escalating tension between India and its nearest neighbour Pakistan, Qamar Mohsin Shaikh from the Pakistan claims she had been tying Rakhi to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for over 20 years. Exploring her ‘memory lane’ the Pakistani woman claimed that her first Raksha Bandhan with the Indian PM was when Modi was a worker of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

As reported by ANI, Qamar Mohsin Shaikh was quoted saying, “I have been tying Rakhi to Narendra bhai for the last 22-23 years, excited to do it this time too. This time I thought PM Modi must be busy but two days back he called up, I was very happy to know that; started preparing for Raksha Bandhan, said the Pakistan lady.”

The lady from Pakistan has been staying in India since she got married and further stated that she had received a call from PM Modi two days back.

She told ANI, “When I first tied rakhi to Narendra bhai, he was a karyakarta but with his sheer hardwork and vision he has become the PM.”

Greeting the whole nation on the auspicious day of Raksha Bandha, the Prime Minister posted on social networking site Twitter, saying, “On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, congratulations to the nation. Greetings on Raksha Bandhan.”

Marking the auspicious day of Shravan Purnima, brothers and sisters across India gear up to celebrate their special bonds observing the day as Raksha Bandhan. The days is marked as a special one in the year, as siblings celebrate the bond of love and care for each other. While the sisters tie thread or bands around their brothers’ wrist, the brothers instead take the oath to protect their sisters from all wrongs and evils.
