Polling process has begun 57 Lok Sabha constituency across seven states. In this phase approximately nine crore voters will decide the fate of 674 candidates contesting in this round including some very known and popular bigwigs faces like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Smriti Irani.

Out of 57 seats BJP’s stake was high during 2014. BJP added 40 seats to its winning graph leaving just 2 seats for Congress, 7 for TMC and rest for other political party across different states.

In ongoing 5th Phase polling, Voting will take place at 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 12 in Rajasthan, 7 seats in each Madhya Pradesh & West Bengal, 5 in Bihar and 7 in Jharkhand. In Jammu & Kashmir, polling will take place in Ladakh constituency and Pulwama and Shopian district of Anantnag.

This is the smallest Lok Sabha polling phase among the all phases conducted till now. A total of 94,000 polling stations have been setup and approximately nine crore voters will decide the destiny of 674 candidates.

Polling percentage in all seven states: 

Bihar: 56.79%

J&K: 17.07%

Jharkhand: 63.99%

Madhya Pradesh: 62.96%

Rajasthan: 63.03%

Uttar Pradesh: 53.32%

West Bengal: 74.06%

Average voting percentage in seven states is 55.88%.
