Even as the Rafale deal is creating a huge political controversy with the Congress accusing the BJP of massive irregularities in the deal, three of the fighter jets landed at the Yelahanka Air Force Station for the Aero India show 2019.

The 12th edition of Asia’s premier air show is said to be a five-day show and it begins on 20 February. The French-made jets arrived in India even as the Comptroller and Audit General (CAG) report on Indo-French Rafale deal was submitted in the Parliament. According to reports, the two of the jets used for flying exercises and the third one for display.

On this occasion, Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, “India offers a large market for manufacturing in the defense sector.” The Defense Minister said that inviting investors to invest in aerospace and other areas, Help in manufacturing.

Loyalty Combat Aircraft (LCA) showed a feat in Bangalore Airshow. The aircraft paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atar Bihari Vajpayee. Vajpayee had named this aircraft as ‘Tejas’.

Sitharaman made strong advocacy of ‘Make in India’ during the inauguration of Aero India 2019 and mentioned many steps taken by the government including 100 per cent foreign direct investment (FDI) approval in defense construction.

Sitharaman also said 150 contracts worth Rs 1,27,500 crore have been signed with Indian vendors for the purchase of defense equipment for the armed forces in the last four years and in the current financial year.

The five-day event started in a simple way. A day before the inauguration of the ceremony, two air raiders of the Indian Air Force, Sun Rima collided in the air. A pilot died during the rehearsal of Aero India program and two were injured, who were safely evacuated.

Indian Air Force will display their power in this biennial event. This event will also provide a platform for aviation companies, defense sector and government to make new agreements.

The current version of Aero india was reported in controversy due to reports of alleged transfer of Uttar Pradesh. This case had taken political color. In these states, the Congress-JD (S) -led government in the state had targeted the BJP-led center.

Aero India’s official website said that during this time, a total of 61 planes will be displayed and 403 exhibitors will participate in the program.
