Dalai Lama says Hindi-Chini bhai bhai

The Buddhist monk, Dalai Lama said Hindi-Chini bhai bhai at the launch of the Universal Ethics Program organized by DAV School in Meerut.

Addressing the gathering which witnessed a congregation of foreigners, the Dalai Lama has delivered the keynote address at the ceremony.

The Tibetan spiritual leader is also scheduled to attend a global peace conference organised by the State Government at the City Convention Centre in Imphal. Many religious leaders including Buddhist monks from Myanmar and other Southeast Asian countries are expected to attend the conference.

Dalai Lama was specially invited by Yumnand Khemchand, the Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly during their last meeting in New Delhi to attend the conference. The invitation was confirmed after consultation with the Chief Minister of Manipur.
This will be his second trip to India’s northeast after his April visit to Arunachal Pradesh.

Extending a warm welcome, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh told, “The government had declared the Dalai Lama a state guest.” Singh further said that he will be given all facilities as an honoured guest.

The event will be followed by a felicitation programme at the same venue.

His three-day-visit will also witness an interaction with members of the public and dignitaries.

Ahead of his Manipur visit on October 18, security measures have been tightened in the state.

A series of search operation has been conducted at various places of Imphal West and Imphal East district when 360 people including 120 women were verified during the search operation.


The Tibetan Spiritual leader’s North East visit was also monitored by the Chinese counterpart.
