Common Service Centres to assess preparedness for conducting DU’s online exams: Delhi HC

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed uncertain and difficult circumstances and one of the worst-hit communities is our youth. We are all battling with the coronavirus and thriving through these unpredictable times, the students of Delhi University are also combating with the exams fear, anxiety, and pressure that is hovering over their heads for quite some time.

On Friday, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice to a private body, named Common Service Centres that falls under the Ministery of Electronics and Information to present its preparedness concerning the exams of the final year students of Delhi University. Common Service Centre has signed an MoU ( Memorandum of Understanding) with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The private entity was assigned with the task of providing IT infrastructure to the students who don’t have such facilities available. The court has directed the Chief Executive Officer of the CSC to submit its report regarding the same.

It is to be annotated that the University conducted the mock exams for the students. Several students faced difficulties in uploading and downloading the question papers and even accessing the Delhi University website.

Many petitions were being filed by the students to the courts to cancel the Online Book Exams.

Let’s not belittle this virus and think of how we all can come out as a more inclusive and sensible society.
