Kesaria Stupa, Kesaria (East Champaran)

Reckoned to be the tallest and largest Buddha Stupa in India, Kesaria Stupa is one of the major attractions of Bihar tourism. The stupa is believed to have been built between 200 and 750 AD under the rule of Raja Chakravarti. With a height of 104 feet, it is an imposing structure that must be visited during a visit to Bihar.

 

 

Kanwar Lake Bird Sanctuary, Begusarai

Kanwar Lake is India’s largest freshwater Oxbow lake. Situated in Begusarai, Kanwar Lake Bird Sanctuary is reckoned to be the haven for 60 species of migratory birds

 

Hieun Tsang Memorial Hall

 

Built in memory of the famous Chinese scholar and traveler Hieun Tsang, the construction is rich in architecture. Hieun Tsang spent more than 12 years in this place on his visit to India. This was the place where Hieun Tsang learnt yoga under the guidance of Acharya Shil Bhadra. The famous traveler has thrown light on medieval India and Nalanda, which are found in the memorial hall.
