After Effect ! Indian Hackers Claims To Leak 1.7 Million User Data From Snapchat. Wooo!

It looks like the hard time for Snapchat is not going to settle down anytime soon. Snapchat sparks criticism since the time the allegations raised against CEO of Snapchat, saying “India is too poor to use Snapchat”

Snapchat, an image messaging and multimedia mobile application, came into firing line when the allegations were raised that the CEO, Evan Spiegel, had said: “India is too poor to use Snapchat.” Revealing the quote of the ex-employee of the company, Anthony Pompliano, Variety said: “I don’t want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain.”

Amidst the tense situation, and irritated Indian community, comes another shock for the company. According to the reports, an anonymous Indian hacker group claimed that they have leaked the data of 1.7 millions of app users. Though, the company had denied the attack and rubbished the claims.

The report quotes the Indian hackers claiming to have found the chink in Snap’s armour last year and had then syphoned details of 1.7 million users. Hackers leaked and made this data based available on the darknet to mark their resentment against company’s remark for India.

Reports also claimed that the hackers had further threatened to carry out an intensive strike against the company on the virtual world till the CEO apologise for his remark.

Previously, in a damage control after the allegations raised, Snapchat, in a clarification, had rubbished the claims of the ex-employee and had said that “This is ridiculous. Obviously, Snapchat is for everyone! It’s available worldwide to download for free.”

However, Indians took to social media against Spiegel and poured out their emotions under #boycottsnapchat. In fact, the app rating on the app stores took a hit.

According to the app info on the Apple App Store, the “Customer Ratings” of the current version of the app was “single star” (based on 6,099 ratings) and all versions rating were “one and a half star” (based on 9,527 ratings) as on Sunday morning.

Interestingly, some confused netizens also started uninstalling Snapdeal instead of Snapchat.
