A multi-story building collapsed in Bhiwadi: Rescue operation underway

A four-story building in Bhiwadi adjoining Mumbai has collapsed within 10 seconds has killed 2 people, while 3 people have been pulled out of the rubble in an injured condition. It is feared that four to five people may still be buried under the rubble. Fireteams from Bhiwadi and Thane have started rescue and relief operations. The accident happened around 2 am on Friday night.

At the time when the building fell, people living there was inside the building to get their goods. The people outside started making noise as soon as the building debris fell. But, within 10 seconds the building was completely demolished. This illegally constructed building is only ten years old.

The crack in the building was noticed at seven o’clock on Friday evening. According to locals, there were about 24 families living in the building. However, the building was evacuated after seeing the crack. However, on Friday night some people went inside to pick up the goods and at the same time, the building collapsed in just 10 seconds.
