Case has been filed against more than 100 people for blocking National Highway-9

Over 100 people blocked the National Highway-9, for which a police complaint was filed on Tuesday against them, police officials said.

According to police, those 100 people were actually there to conduct a candlelight march on Monday night in the remembering of the 40 CRPF soldiers who were killed in the recent Pulwama terror attack.

After the candlelight march, people who participated blocked the highway due to which traffic near Khoda and Indira Puram was affected for two hours.

The incident was informed to the police by the commuters. The police reached the spot and disbursed the public and restored traffic movement.

An FIR was filled against the 100 unknown people at Indira Puram police station for blocking the NH-9 under sections 283 and 147 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Following which, police issued an advisory of asking the public not to create traffic hassles.
