Pune University to award gold medals to teetotalers

Being earnest and focused in studies are few things which pay off to achieve an honour award like the gold medal.

Scoring high grades in exams and being an active participant in a university’s academic events are all one needs to be thought of as an ideal student who deserves a gold medal.

But this comes as never heard before news as a new rule announced by the University of Pune adds something more as desirable-you have to be vegetarian and a teetotaler.

The university’s rule has been announced to select the candidates eligible for a gold medal which will be given out under the name of Shelar Mama.

The new list of students who eat vegetarian food and don’t consume alcohol will only be considered eligible for gold medals, according to the new rule.

And that’s not it–the rules also mention that the eligible candidates much prefer yoga as a form of exercise.
