Noble prize for economics has been awarded to Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer for alleviating global poverty. Indian born Banerjee is an American citizen while Duflo is a French American and Michael Kremer from the US.
Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo, often with Michael Kremer, performed similar studies of other issues and in other countries. Their experimental research methods now entirely dominate development economics.
