  1. Fine for not wearing a mask in Delhi increased to ₹2000 from ₹500: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said that a decision has been taken to increase the fine for not wearing a mask in public from ₹500 to ₹2,000 to help control the spread of COVID-19 in the Capital as many people have become careless about wearing a mask.

He also appealed to the people not to celebrate Chhath at ponds and other water bodies in the city. The chief minister said the Delhi government was implemented from November 19 its decision to reserve 80 percent of ICU beds in private hospitals for COVID-19 patients.

3. Ex-CM Jitan Ram Manjhi Sworn is as Pro-term Speaker of Bihar Assembly.

Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was on Thursday sworn in as the pro-tem Speaker of the state assembly. Manjhi, a multiple-term MLA and founding president of the Hindustani Awam Morcha, was administered the oath of office by Governor Fagu Chauhan.

“He has been appointed for the period November 23-24, 2020, until a new Speaker is elected,” said the communication. A five-day inaugural session of the newly constituted assembly is scheduled to commence on November 23.
