Man books a cab from Bengaluru to North Korea for Rs 1.49 lakh. What?

As vacation period is soon kicking-in, parents are in a deep thinking mode where to take their child for a much needed break. Also, as taxi drivers have called to an indefinite strike working with Ola and Uber, planning a vacation will be cumbersome for parents. But fighting the odds, this Bangalorean man actually scheduled a Ola ride the foreign shores.

Rohit Medna booked an Ola cab from Bangalore to North Korea. A technical glitch resulted in Twitter user to book a ride from Bangalore to South Pyongan in North Korea. The taxi giant not only provided him the driver detail but also charged him Rs 1.49 lakh rupees bill as one can see in the screenshots shred by the enthusiastic guy.

On Sunday, Rohit shared a screenshot of his ‘scheduled’ trip to North Korea one of the mos feared lands on the planet. The ride details included the departure date to be March 18 at 12.15 am from Bangalore, Karnataka India to Unnamed Road, South Pyongan, North Korea and be back on March 23 at 12.15 am. The five-day round trip of about 13840 km was billed Rs 149088, charging Rs 10 per km. The shocked man tweeted, “How is this possible @Olacabs a trip to North Korea? Please check your systems.”

The app-based cab service provider, Ola without wasting much time replied to Rohit’s tweet. However, their reply lacked conviction that further made them look like a pauper. They replied writing, “This seems to be a technical glitch. Please restart the phone and try again.” But it was not just Rohit who received the Trip-to-North Korea cab confirmation from Ola but to a whole bunch of other users. They started posting their screenshots to bring the matter to the cab company’s attention.
