For the first time in NBA history since NBA Playoffs began, Los Angeles has won the first game of a series. The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 126-114 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

After a back and forth first quarter, the Lakers outscored Denver 34-21 in the second to take an 11-point lead into halftime. The Lakers weren’t satisfied either and dominated the second half also as Nuggets were unable to launch the second-half comeback this time which we have grown so accustomed to seeing from them..

As expected, the Denver Nuggets could not stop the Lakers stars.LeBron James (15points, 12assists, and 6 rebounds) or Anthony Davis(37points, 10rebounds, and 4 assists).Veteran Dwight Howard was also instrumental in the win for the Lakers after hardly playing in the last series, creating problems for Nuggets star player Nikola Jokic and getting the start for the Lakers in the second half of Game1. He also had 13 points for the Lakers.

Veteran Rajon Rondo came up big as well, nothing 9 assists and a surpassing record of Michael Jordan on the all-time playoffs assists list.Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray each scored 21 points for the Nuggets, playing their conference Finals for the first time since the Lakers beat them in 2009.

The Los Angeles lakers will Play Game 2 against Denver Nuggets on Sunday. If the playoffs have taught us anything, it’s that the Nuggets are unlikely to just roll over and die, but this was a great start to the series for Los Angeles.
