‘Glee’ actress Naya missing, feared dead after her 4-year-old son found alone on the boat

American actor ‘Naya Rivera’ who played Santana Lopez in the TV musical show ‘Glee’ was missing and assumed dead after her four-year-old son was found alone in the Lake Piru of California on Wednesday, authorities said.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s department announced in a press release that search for the drowning victim body has begun after responding to a report of the body left alone on the boat at 4.48 pm on 8th July.

The 33-year-old actress had arrived at the lake and rented a pontoon boat with her son.

The search is being assisted by a Search and Rescue Dive team and along with its helicopter equipped with a drone.

As per the Ventura County Sheriff’s department, Rivera and her son were swimming. Her son was having a life vest and she wasn’t. The father of Rivera’s son, actor Ryan Dorsey remains unharmed.

As per the reports, her child was found three hours later in the boat by another boater but was unharmed.

Her child said that he and her mother were swimming but her mother never got back, it further added.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Twitter account wrote that there was an ongoing search for possible drowning of the victim in Lake Piru. The account identified the missing victim as Rivera.

Search has been paused for a while as the authorities stopped till the “first light” to resume on Thursday morning.

Lake Piru is located in Ventura County, California, in the Los Padres National Forest, which is more than 50 miles north on Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, Rivera has tweeted a photo with her son which was captioned: “just the two of us”.
