Coronavirus has taken centre stage in the lives of all humans around the world. Our Indian celebrities are no exception to this rule. Due to the contagious nature of the disease, the government has shut down all places of public gatherings like malls, theatres and gyms in Mumbai. Several offices have asked employees to work from home, while all schools and colleges have been shut down. Bollywood has also taken a hit due to this global pandemic, with over shoots being halted and release dates of films being pushed. In such times where the only way to stop the spread of coronavirus is by staying at home, Indian celebrities are trying to find ways to keep themselves entertained.
1. Akshay Kumar – Spending quality time with your partner
To achieve this feat, Akki has to be working around the clock, be it filming for his movies or promoting them. In all this chaos, he barely gets any time to spend with his family. But now that Sooryavanshi has been pushed and he doesn’t have to venture out on promotions any longer, Akki spends his days wearing tropical onesies. His actress-turned-author wife, Twinkle Khanna posted a story that saw the couple kicking it back on a couple of hammocks with warm teas in their hands. Take a page out of the book of these Indian celebrities and take this time to disconnect with the world and take a break from your hectic routines.
2. Katrina Kaif – Learning home work outs
Katrina Kaif is among the fittest Indian celebrities currently. She is the kind of person who motivates other Bollywood actors to work out as well. However, she is not letting the gyms shutting down factor affect her health. Considering that the release date of her upcoming film, Sooryvanshi, has been pushed to a later date, she is taking all this free time to help improve her immunity. With the help of her fitness coach, Yasmin Karachiwala, Katrina put out a couple of videos for her 33.7 million followers demonstrating some easy-to-follow home workouts.
3. MS Dhoni – Spending time with the furries
It isn’t just movie stars that are being affected by the world coming to a standstill due to the coronavirus. The much-awaited IPL, which was set to kick off this month, has been pushed to April 15, 2020. Even MS Dhoni’s team, Chennai Super Kings had their practice sessions suspended due to the same reasons. This meant that Captain Cool returned to his hometown, Ranchi and has been self-quarantining himself since. His wife, Sakshi, put out some Instagram stories that showed his infamous Hellcat parked in the wrong spot. While Dhoni, on the other hand, was seen petting his pet dog while watching some TV.
4. Saif Ali Khan – Catching up on some reading
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know that Kareena Kapoor Khan made her Instagram debut earlier this month. Ever since, the actress has been giving her followers a glimpse into her royal life. Her most recent post was that of her husband Saif, sitting in their cozy study, as he was reading a book. Take a cue from the Nawab himself and take this time to not venture outside but pick up that book that has been on your reading list forever.
5. Kareena Kapoor – Instagramming
While Saif Ali Khan is spending his time learning more about the world, Kareena is doing the same thing but using different memes… sorry, we meant means. Considering that she has just joined Instagram and already has 1.9 million followers, we understand how her phone is receiving some extra attention. And now that she can’t step out and promote her upcoming film, Angrezi Medium, she’s taking the millennial route and spending her self-quarantine time Instagramming.
6. Jacqueline Fernandez – Strengthening her immune system
For Jacqueline Fernandez, her health is always her priority. She loves her pilates and yoga, she eats only vegan food and promotes brands that stand against animal cruelty. And so, Jacqueline has been taking this self-quarantine time to strengthen her spine, do some yoga, listen to some good music and just breathe clean air.
7. Varun Dhawan – Interacting with fans from home
Before the coronavirus scare, Varun Dhawan was working on his upcoming film Coolie No 1, alongside Sara Ali Khan. However, since things got serious in India, he also became one of the Indian celebrities to take to his social media and convey to his fans that the best practice right now is to stay at home and maintain hygiene. But that’s not all. On Tuesday morning, Varun went live on Instagram, taking up questions from his fans and interacted with them to provide some wholesome entertainment. His #AMA (ask me anything) in fact, even went on trend on Twitter briefly.
8. Deepika Padukone – Cleaning out her closet
Among all the Indian celebrities who have been doing the intelligent thing by self quarantining is Deepika Padukone. The actress, who was last seen in the film critically-acclaimed film Chhapaak, took this time to clear out her closet. Taking a look at her Instagram, we can safely say that this is going to be a mammoth task but will keep the actress at her productive best.
9. Kartik Aaryan – Playing Jenga
Our March cover star has also been not taking this viral threat lightly. The actor has been taking this time to keep his mind occupied by playing games like Jenga with his friends. And looking at the images, it seems like the actor was concentrating hard on not letting his deck fall apart. Kartik Aaryan was last seen in Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh. His next film is set to be the horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiya 2, opposite Kiara Advani.
10. Arjun Kapoor – Watching movies on BlueRay
Arjun Kapoor is sticking to his millennial roots and making the most of all this free time by watching a whole array of films on BlueRay. While you may not have a private home theatre like Kapoor.
11. Priyanka Chopra – Cuddling with her pets
The World Health Organisation declared that canines cannot contract coronavirus earlier this month. And so, it is great news to know that one of the most harmless (and best, in our opinion) things you could do right now is cuddle with your furries. And that is exactly what Priyanka Chopra has been doing with the goodest boy Gino, here. We all know about the sad eyes that you pup gives you while you’re about to walk out of the door. Now that you’re stuck at home because of the coronavirus, give them all of your attention.
Now that you know what your favourite celebrities are doing to not only protect themselves against the coronavirus but also to stop its further step, do your bit and self-quarantine too. It’s not a brave move to step outside, but a really selfish one instead.
