As with the release of his second movie trailer, Firangi, Kapil Sharma is now back to tickle your funny bone after his show – The Kapil Sharma Show went off-air after the infamous mid-air brawl with colleague and friend Sunil Grover. Post the incident, the comedian’s career graph was on a downward spiral.
Comedian, Kapil Sharma, had to cancel the shootings of episodes with superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgun, Anil Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and others. His unprofessionalism had gained traction and the show’s TRPs started declining. Soon after that, the show was pulled down.
Now, speaking about the aftermath of his spat with Sunil Grover at the trailer launch event of Firangi, Kapil Sharma admitted that he felt so helpless and depressed that he even wanted to commit suicide at one point of time. He revealed that he had taken to excessive drinking and would also seclude himself from others. A MidDay report quoted him as saying, “One of my close friends asked me to shift to his seaside apartment. He thought a change of scene would be good for me. As I saw the wide expanse of sea from his balcony, I felt like jumping into it. I was depressed; it felt like the world was gunning for me.”
The comedian also shared how he became extremely vulnerable and had frequent panic attacks due to which he couldn’t step on stage to perform. Hence, he would cancel his shoot. “I suffered from anxiety and drank myself silly. I would stay locked up in the office with my pet dog. People stopped coming on the show and I went off the radar,” he said.
All said and done, we’re glad that Kapil is back to entertain us, this time on the big screen.
