Amazon Great Indian Festival sale kicks off; but can they beat Flipkart this time?

Love online shopping? Love discounts even more? Well then Amazon is back to tickle your pleasure nerves with their second festive sale of the year. And this time its back with better discounts, offers, more categories and prices that are surely going to entice you.

Starting from 4th October, the sale will go on till the 8th and is expected to be even bigger than their last sale which was their largest sale ever since they made their foray into the Indian market four years ago.

With their great Indian sale being a big success recently, Amazon has decided to pick up from where they left. Making the most of the Diwali, Amazon are back with another huge sale to capture the Indian market. They will be offering 15% cash back in return to those shopping with Amazon Pay balance, during the sale in addition to eye luring offers. Citibank credit and debit card users are in for more merry as they can avail 10 percent additional cash back as a part of the upcoming sale.

It is sales, tactics and marketing strategies such as these that has made Amazon the biggest e-commerce site in India. Launching after Flipkart, Snapdeal, Jabong and Myntra, Amazon were still able to capture all their customers with a wide range of products, deals, assured delivery and Amazon certification.

Flipkart, however, managed to roar back this year as their annual sale this year outperformed Amazon’s by a big margin.

According to RedSeer Consulting report, Flipkart Group, which also includes Myntra and Jabong has generated 58 per cent of the GMV (gross merchandise value), while its major competitor Amazon managed to have a 26 percent share. The remaining 16 percent of the total $1.5 billion GMV generated during the five days of festive sale were accounted by other e-retailers.

Smartphones and large appliances were the best-selling products in the recent Festive Sale that ended on September 24. As per the records, Amazon managed to sell 2.5 times more smartphones and four times more large appliances than last year’s Diwali sale. With phones and electronics being their hottest and best sellers during the last sale, Amazon will be selling 2.5 million such products.

Amazon will also be offering No Cost EMI and exchange offers on various products as part of its next sale. Be sure to tune into the sale to enjoy the cheapest products and best deals in the Indian market.
